Delegate from Pocahontas county. Born October 8, 1848, near Travelers Repose, Virginia (now West Virginia); educated in the common free schools of that day, which afforded but limited oppor- tunities; is a surveyor and dealer in real estate; has held the office of County Surveyor of Pocahontas County and has also served as Commissioner of School Lands; elected to the House of Delegates in 1914; re-elected in 1916; in 1917 served on committees on Game and Fish, Insur- ance, Labor, Penitentiary and the Virginia Debt.
