Pass the turn on your left to Beaver Creek Campground and before you come to the superintendent's residence, you will have another left turn to Burr Valley and Burr Valley Campground. The road forks to the left and to the right. The right fork goes to the campgrounds and the left fork goes to the cemetery. The road to the cemetery is just past the forks on your left (see the picture "road-to-burr-cemetery.jpg"). On the right of this road, there are the remains of an old log house. This old log house stood with a chimney for many years, but in the last few years it has been ravaged quite a lot. You need a high vehicle in good weather and 4 wheel drive in bad weather. Go up this road through the woods about 200 yards and you will come to a clearing surrounded by white pines. Go through this clearing to the other side and go through woods again about 200 yards and you will come to a very similar clearing surrounded by white pines. Cross this clearing and go through the woods again, and you will come to the cemetery. I found 8 gravesites with headstones and have photos of all 8. They are as follows: 1. John W. Smith b: February 17,1855 d: October 8, 1918 (Row 1 - Headstone 1 from left to right, from the backside of the cemetery) 2. Dewey G. Smith b: November 12, 1896 d: September 27, 1918 (Row 1 - Headstone 2. This looks as if it may be father and son. The headstones are almost identical.) 3. John Burr d: November 2, 1883 Aged 57 YRS Catharine J. Wife of John Burr d: September 1, 1915 Aged 89 YRS (Row 2 from the backside of the cemetery - Headstone 3. This is a double headstone. To the left of John Burr, there are 4 gravesites marked with fieldstones, that appear to be children. To the right of Catharine J. is a gravesite marked with fieldstone that appears to be an adult. All are in the same row with John and Catharine Burr's headstone. I can't help but believe that maybe this is the family that lived in the log house to the right of the road in the first picture. Some ruins still remain of the house, but I did not get a good picture of this.) 4. Paul Henry Burr 1907 - 1996 (Row 3 left to right - Headstone 4) 5. Henry S. Burr b: April 10, 1865 d: March 23, 1937 Minnie C. Burr b: April 21, 1871 (Row 3 - Headstone 5. Double headstone. To the left of this headstone in Row 3 are two more gravesites marked with fieldstones that appear to be adults.) 6. Ernest W. Burr 1899 - 1982 (Row 3 - Headstone 6. This is to the left of Headstone #5. The two gravesites with fieldstone markers mentioned in Headstone 5 are to the left of Headstone 6. 7. Opal Elizabeth Burr b: October 7, 1915 d: March 12, 1990 8. Summers James Burr b: September 15, 1909 d: August 28, 1971 (Row 4 - Headstones 7 and 8. These last 2 are separate headstones, but made identical. I'm assuming that they are husband and wife.)
