Article summary: The Pocahontas County Historical Society was finalizing a project to locate the cabin sites of Pocahontas County pioneers. Once located, the sites were to be permanently marked and the locations recorded at the Pocahontas County Courthouse. This is a list of the settlers that where identified at the time the article was written (a request was also made for any updates or additional names). The list also contains identified forts in the area. It would be interesting to find out if the cabin locations are recorded at the Courthouse. Contact me if you know anything about this project. The cabin sites of those names marked with an asterisk * had already been located.
