The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Pocahontas County Will Book #3, Pages 308-309: In the name of God, Amen, I George KEE, of Pocahontas County State of Virginia, being weak in body, but being of sound mind, memory and understanding, but considering the uncertainy of human life, do make and publish this my last will and testament, in the manner and ??, following to wit: First I command my soul to God through Christ who gave it me, my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like manner, it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my death. Item--I give and bequeath unto my eldest son, Joshua B. KEE the plantation known by the name of the Thorpe place containing one hundred acres by ????? (Surady?), also one still ? Item--I give and bequeath unto my second son John KEE my home plantation where the Testor now lives with one hundred and sixty acres of land called the Ewings land on Buck's Mountain with five acres joining the home place and Joseph Buckley als to be added unto a quantity of acres not now known and taken from the Powel place and bounded designated as follows: Beginning at the two white oaks in a flat on the river hill corner of the Powel place and home place, and thence to the corner of the Powel place and with the dividing fence to the upper side of the field, and thence to a white lynn and ash comer (?) of the Powel place and Ewing land and thence to a red oak Johnson's corner on the Ewing land?- Item--I give and bequeath unto my third son William KEE the Powel plantation excepting so much as is bequeathed to my second son John KEE also one other tract of land containing one hundred and seventy-four acres joininh the said Powel plantation and Ianis Price to Greenbrier River?- Item--I give and bequeath unto my fourth son Andrew KEE the plantation known by the name of the Gorman place on Greenbrier River containing one hundred and ninety-five acres?- Item--I give unto my daughter Hannah KEE four head of cattle to be chosen by herself, also all my flock of sheep, and also all the household and kitchen ????, with bedding and clothing, also a loom, tackling, and gear and sneads (?), It is my will and desire that my above named daughter may live in my mansion house as long as she may remain unmarried and as touching all the ???? residue and and remainder of my estate real and personal of of what kind or native socrer (?) the same may be in the County of Pocahontas aforesaid or elsewhere I give and desire the same unto my five children named above to be equally among thus divided, And lastly I appoint and ????? my two sons Joshua B KEE and John KEE my whole and sole Executors of this my last will and testament, authorizing them with full power and trust to execute every particular herein mentioned from the good opinion and trust which I have for them, It is my request that they be not bound by bond or security for the performance herein requested, hereby revoking all former wills by me made heretofore, declaring this to be my last will and testament, made this 19th day of February One thousand eight hundred and fourty seven Signed sealed published and declared as and for the last will and testament of the above named George KEE in presence of us George KEE (seal) John McNeill Wesley McNeill
