First, I recommend my soul to God who gave it, my body to be decently buried in a Christian like manner, and after my Funeral expenses are paid, and all my other just debts are punctually paid. I will and bequeath to my son Elijah Hudson my home tract of land lying in said County, on Sitlingtons Creek containing 114 acres – I Will and bequeath to my daughter Naomi S. Mathews my large Bible and a note of Fifty Dollars executed to my son Elijah Hudson, due one day after my death – I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Hudson all the balance of my property, that I may die in possession off during her natural life at her death to be sold at twelve moth credit and to be equally divided among the balance of my children (namely), Polly Lumsford, Elizabeth Neel, Nancy L. Sybert, Rachel Dysard, Thomas Hudson, Eliza R. Hudson, Matilda Humphries, James M. Hudson, lastly I constitute and appoint Jacob W. Mathews [written over top – David W. Kerr in place of Jacob W. Mathews] executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of February One Thousand Eight Hundred and forty-five.
