John & Catherine Hewitt at their home near Terra Alta WV. Circa 1895. Eudora 
Hewitt and John Bickford (grandson) in foreground John Hewitt was a Captain in 
the 148th WV Militia in 1862-63, before joining the 6th WV Cavalry company 
"E". He was captured at New Creek WV and was in Libby Prison in Richmond VA, 
before being released in February 1865. John died in 1900. Catherine died in 
1903.
