I, Thomas Bickett of the County of Putnam, and State of Virginia, do make this my last will and testament, as followes (thatis to say) my desire is to be buried with as little expense as decency will permit, and that all my debts and burial expense be payd as soon after my decease as conveniently may be, and I give to brother James M. all my edge tools of every description together with three hundred and fifty dollars in money, when my other property is sold more than any other heirs. I desire also and nominate brother James M. to be my administrator to sell all my property (with the exception of the above named tools) to the highest bidder and distribute the proceedsa thereof as herein after mentioned. I desire brother James M. to pay all my personal expenses and place a tomb around my grave out of his portion of the estate. My desire is that when the farm is sold there be a half acre of ground reserved as a burial place for me and all my relations who may see proper to be buried there the ground lays opposite the front door of the kitchen above the clift of rocks on the opposite side of the creek from the house, my desire is that the balance of the estate be divided equally among all the heirs, James and Henry Jane Ereskins an Isabel Hix there is fifty dollars that Jane Erskins got more than her portion of my Fathers estate, which fifty dollars I wish taken from he portion of my estate and distributed equally among the other three heirs. The portions which may fall to Jane E and Isabel H. I give to them for their own absolute use and benefit for and during their lives, and from and after their decease I give and devise the same to their heirs forever. In witness whereoff I the said testator Thomas Bickett to this my last will written upon one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this 9th day of November in the year 1850.
