Born Feb. 15, 1912, in Wolf Pen, she was the daughter of the late James K. and Marriah Ford Beverly. Mrs. Allen was a former owner and operator of several restaurants in the Pineville area. She was a member of Pineville First United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Wyoming County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Lee Allen; and 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors include a sister, Helen Wright of Pineville; and several nieces and nephews. Barnhouse BUCKNER, Mo. - Elizabeth Linsky Barnhouse, 75, formerly of Cranberry and Fayetteville, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at her home following a long illness. Born Feb. 11, 1924, in McKeesport, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Linsky and stepdaughter of the late John Linsky. Mrs. Barnhouse was a retired registered nurse, a 1942 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a 1946 graduate of Laird Memorial Hospital in Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Barnhouse, on Jan. 4, 1998. Brackenrich MCROSS - Johnnie Dale Brackenrich, 77, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at a Fairlea medical center following a short illness. Born Dec. 28, 1921, in Rupert, he was the son of the late Zelia S. Johnson and Samuel H. Brackenrich. Mr. Brackenrich was a member of McRoss Baptist Church, a member of UMWA District 29, a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Brown; and a brother, Samuel "Chuck" Brackenrich. Cheek Adrienne Samantha Cheek, 12, of Sophia, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, in Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C., following a short illness. Born April 5, 1987, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Jack Cheek and Anita Matherly Cheek, both of Sophia. Adrienne was a member of Sophia Freewill Baptist Church. She was a seventh-grader at Independence Junior High School where she was a junior varsity cheerleader. She won the Raleigh County MVP (Most Valuable Player) Award at the 1999 Junior Varsity Cheerleading Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999. She was chosen the seventh-grade Snow Ball Court attendant. Adrienne was a member of the Independence Junior High Student Council, Bible Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and she also played softball for the Go Mart team of the Sophia Little League. She was the 1998 Sophia Midget League A-Team homecoming queen. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Randall Cheek II; a paternal grandmother, Margaret Cheek; and maternal grandparents, Chester and Nola Cooper Matherly. Coffman, 50, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, near Red Sulphur Springs. Born April 3, 1949, in Philippi, he was the son of the late Joe and Kathleen Phelps Coffman. Mr. Coffman was an educator in Monroe County for 28 years. All but the last five years were at Greenville School where he was softball and basketball coach and served as athletic trainer for the football program, and taught physical education and social studies. Mr. Coffman's most recent teaching position was at James Monroe High School where he taught physical education, health and was the girls' volleyball coach. He was a retired coal miner, member of the UMWA and an avid fisherman and hunter. Born June 16, 1938, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Albert Fred Worrell Jr. and Lucy Jane Maddox Worrell. Mrs. McClure was a member of Jones Memorial Baptist Church, Beckley. She was preceded in death by her grandmother who raised her, Birdie Grace Maddox. Moore Darrell Thomas Moore went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Dec. 6, 1999. He was a lifetime resident of Raleigh County and attended Oak Grove Christian Church his entire life. He was baptized on Feb. 26, 1960, at a frozen pond in Oak Grove. He was an ordained deacon, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, and served two partial years as a lay minister at Community Christian Church in Hinton. He loved to teach and preach encouragement as taught in the Bible by Jesus and his Disciples. He performed many skits and was well known as Brother Leroy. Mr. Moore graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School lin 1969, Beckley College in 1971 and Morris Harvey College in 1973. He worked his entire career in the health care industry, 16 years as a counselor and social worker at Appalachian OH-9 and for the past 11 years as a social worker and then administrative assistant at BARH Home Health Agency. He served the YMCA as a volunteer soccer coach for the past 15 years. In 1993 he was recruited by Tom Cushman to co-coach the first all-girl soccer team in Raleigh County, and he coached all-girls teams up through the fall 1999 season. He was a beloved coach and encourager for the many kids he so loved and was fortunate to coach. Coaching, serving Jesus and loving his family were his passions. He married his high school sweetheart, Jeanie Dunbar, in 1973. He was a generous, devoted and loving husband and father of two children. He adored his family and was blessed with many nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle D. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Jeanie Dunbar Moore; a son, Scott Moore of Beckley; a daughter, Bethany Moore of Beckley; his mother, Mary Moore of Beckley; father and stepmother, Alonzo and Betty Moore of Coal City; his brother, Randall Moore and his wife, Karen, of Beckley; a sister, Bonnie Martin of Clemson, S.C.; two nieces, Angie and Christy; seven nephews, J.W., James, Andrew, Aaron, Jason, Noah and Jonah; and Godchild, Alexa. She studied at Hadley School of the Blind and was president of the Beckley Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind for many years. She was a member of Glen White Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Charlie" J. Traybor, on Sept. 9, 1976; and a son, Charles Joseph Traybor Jr., in 1974.
