Register Herald Obituaries for December 22, 1999 Felia M. Allen JESSE - Felia M. Allen, 81, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in a Charleston hospital following a short illness. Born Aug. 16, 1918, in Jesse, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Mary Shortridge Brinegar. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Wyoming County and of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Allen; two sisters; and a grandson, Jeffrey Dale Allen. Survivors include three sons, Bud "Junior" Allen and his wife, Shirley, of Jesse, Arvil Lee Allen of Collinsville, Va., and Wannis Ray Allen Sr. and his wife, Dawn, of Jesse; two daughters, Virginia Mary Bailey of Jesse and Barbara Klaiber of Princeton; a brother, Ted Brinegar of Glen Jean; a sister, Goldie Bledsoe of Rockville, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. Jerry Cantley officiating. Burial will follow in Cook Cemetery, Jesse. Brogan MARFRANCE - Bernie Edward Brogan, 74, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at his home following a long illness. Born Sept. 21, 1925, in McCorkle, he was the son of the late Golden and Estie Spears Brogan. Mr. Brogan was of the Baptist faith, had been a resident of Greenbrier County most of his life and was a retired coal miner. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran who was captured as a POW during the Battle of the Bulge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Wilda Moore Brogan; a sister, Elenore Kirk; and two brothers, Junior Brogan and Theodore Brogan. Survivors include six daughters, Patricia Murphy of Chatsworth, Ga., Judy Duncan of Columbus, Ohio, Brenda Walker of Marfrance, Mabel Williams of Columbus, Sheri Tadijanac of Mansfield, Ohio, and Sharon Kilburn of Newport, Ky.; four sons, Bernie C. Brogan of Columbus, Danny Brogan of Mansfield, Henry Brogan of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Patrick Brogan of Rainelle; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. Born Jan. 4, 1922, in Morganette, she was the daughter of the late Arnold E. and Elizabeth M. McCallister Lee. Mrs. Cutlip was a former seamstress at the Peoples Co. of Rainelle, attended First Baptist Church of Rainelle and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Albert Cutlip, on Jan. 29, 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Eggleston and her husband, Harry, of Normal, Ill., and Janet Smedley of Chino Hills, Calif.; a son, James Cutlip and his wife, Rhoda, of Silver Spring, Md.; a sister, Mary McLoud of Norwalk, Calif.; two brothers, William Lee and his wife, Mary, of Whittier, Calif., and Frank Lee and his wife, Barbara, of Redlands, Calif.; four grandchildren, Michael Eggleston and his wife, Traci, of Johnson City, Tenn., Brian Eggleston and his wife, Sherri, of Torrance, Calif., Aaron Moore of Chino Hills and Brent Smedley of Fullerton, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Angelica, Kayla and Thomas Eggleston, all of Tennessee. Born Sept. 13, 1951, in Jackson, Miss., she was the daughter of Othelia L. Dempsey Tillette Rippetoe of Sour Lake, Texas, and the late Capt. James L. Tillette. Ms. Eades was a medical records technician supervisor for New River Family Health Center, Scarbro. She was a member of Ansted Episcopal Church of the Redeemer and United Daughters of the Confederates. Survivors include her stepfather, James A. Rippetoe of Sour Lake; a brother, James L. Tillette of Beckley; a sister, Anna Lee Miller of Fredericksburg, Va.; and a niece, Ashley Tillette of Gaithersburg, Md. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, at Ansted Episcopal Church of the Redeemer with Father Roy Gene Crist officiating. Born Feb. 18, 1924, in Herndon, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Mollie Ramsey Green. Mr. Green was disabled and a lifelong resident of Herndon. He made his home with his sister, Kathleen Aliff of Herndon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kester Green. Other survivors include three sisters, Della Belcher of Princeton, Marie Davidson of Matoaka and Lena June Goodall of Huntington; and a brother, the Rev. Jackie L. Green of Herndon. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with Elder Bryce Phillips and the Rev. William O. Tolliver officiating. Born Feb. 10, 1899, south of Edmonton, Northwest Territories, Canada, on the family farm, she was the sixth daughter of seven born to pioneers of Edmonton, Henry W. and Annie S. Heathcote. Mrs. Nitschke was a graduate of Camrose Normal School, McGill University in physical education, University of Washington Nursing School and a received nurse anesthetist degree from a Long Island, N.Y., hospital. She was a member of AAUW, Phi Beta Kappa sorority and life member of the Republican Party. Survivors include nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. The body was cremated with no service. The ashes will go to the family plot in the IOOF Cemetery, The Dalles, Oregon. Flowers should be omitted, and donations may be made to your favorite charity.
