Anderson Nell Gilkeson Anderson, 83, of Beaver, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the Hilltop nursing center following a long illness. Born March 29, 1916, in Terry, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Bessie Carper Gilkeson. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church, Beaver. She had been a resident of the Beaver area most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Anderson; three brothers, Bernard, Howard and Leonard Gilkeson; and eight sisters, Doris Baldinell, Mildred Bowman, Cleo Moore, Toni Anderson, Maggie Cline, Freda Meadows, Eliza Gilkeson and Lyla Gilbert. Survivors include a son, Mark Anderson and his wife, Kathy, of Beaver; two daughters, Jane Skelton and her husband, Alan, of Hendersonville, N.C., and Cathy Giompalo and her husband, Tom, of Huntington; a brother, Glenn Gilkerson and his wife, Mary Jane, of Lewisburg; two sisters, Mary Meeker and her husband, Jack, of Coolidge, Ariz., and Louise Crouch and her husband, Buford, of Beckley; four grandsons, Brian Giompalo, Kevin Giompalo, Scott Skelton and Eric Skelton; and two great-grandsons, Nicholas and Gabriel Giompalo. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Born July 15, 1933, in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Patrick Connor and Verna June Shirey Connor. Mrs. Dew was a retired bookkeeper for McDowell Supply Co., had been a resident of Beckley most of her life and was a past member of the Degree of Honor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Ray Dew; and a brother, Ronald Patrick Connor. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Diane Weisner and her husband, Maurice H., of Alexandria, Va., and Donna Rae Blevins and her husband, Ronald V., of Beckley; two brothers, Ralph G. Connor of Willow Springs, N.C., and Michael J. Born Jan. 21, 1913, in Guyan, he was the son of the late Floyd and Rinnie Toler Hatfield. Mr. Hatfield was a retired coal miner. He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church of Coal Mountain. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mable Brown Hatfield; three sons, Billy James Hatfield, Charles Edward Hatfield and an infant son; two daughters, Vonda Rose Hatfield and an infant daughter; five brothers, Troy, Virgil, Lonnie, Elmer and Lessie Hatfield; and a sister, Goldie Hatfield. She was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, Russellville, and was a former cook at Kelly's Korner Restaurant, Pax. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathleen Fowler, Anna Mae Hughes and Evelyn Lewis. Born Aug. 8, 1924, in Edwight, she was the daughter of the late Frank Cox and Gertrude Dempsey Cox Wiley. Mrs. Peters was a retired clerk from Stone & Thomas. She was a member of Bradley Freewill Baptist Church and an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Delbert W. Peters; a brother, Paul "Buster" Cox; a sister, Madge Massey; a halfbrother, Walter Wiley; and a halfsister, Billie Wiley. Mr. Seal had been a resident of Ronceverte most of his life and was a member of Ronceverte Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Greenbrier Lodge No. 146 IOOF and a retired camp car cook for C&O Railroad. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Peggy Kyle Alvis. Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae Martin Seal; a stepson, Earl D. Mrs. Taylor was a retired coordinator of Companion Referral Services, Kanawha Valley Senior Services. She was born in Slab Fork and was a graduate of Charleston High School. She served as a Y-Teen leader and a representative to numerous school and civic organizations. She was a member of Tiskelwah Chapter No. 45 Order of Eastern Star and served several sessions as a delegate to the Silver Haired Legislature. Survivors include her husband, Sam W. Taylor; three children, Joyce Parker of St. Petersburg, Md., Judy Farley of Beckley and Nancy Pfister of Charleston; a brother, Jessie Tucker of Beckley; a niece, Margaret Stover of Crab Orchard; her grandchildren, James Farley, Mrs. Krisann Parker-Brown and Forrest Parker; and three great-grandchildren.
