Bennett Ernest Paul Bennett, 57, of Beckley, formerly of White Oak, died at 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in Heartland of Beckley after a short illness of cancer. Born Sept. 13, 1942, at Abraham, he was the son of the late Orda Bennett and Leona Todd Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a disabled sawmill employee and had lived at White Oak for 32 years. He gave his heart to the Lord on Christmas Day 1999. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rheo Bennett; and a sister, Geneve Bennett. Survivors include two brothers, Arlo Bennett and his wife, Doris, of White Oak and Roy Bennett and his wife, Margaret, of Benton Harbor, Mich.; five sisters, Theda Fox and her husband, Ray, of Layland, Wanda Glover and her husband, Albert, of Cassopolis, Mich., Ethel Plumley and her husband, Mervel, of Piney View, Mogene Harsh of Flat Top and Myrtle Nugen of Hampton, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Revs. Floyd Bolen and Daniel Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Clyburn, 77, of 100B Meadowview Apartments, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born July 10, 1922, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late George E. Wall and Effie Lee Wall. Mrs. Clyburn attended House of Worship, Pulaski. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Moody. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Estep MEADOW BRIDGE - Mollie V. Estep, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center following a long illness. Born Jan. 16, 1911, at Grandview, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Rhoda Ann Morton Gill. Mrs. Estep had lived in Meadow Bridge for 22 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Meadow Bridge, a member of the Senior Citizens of Meadow Bridge and a retired seamstress. She was active in community work, being responsible for a doctor coming to Meadow Bridge Clinic. She wrote friends asking for contributions for the repairs of the small home that was purchased for the Senior Citizens building. Traditional Home Magazine featured her in an article about Appalachian art, and Mid Atlantic Country Magazine featured her in an article titled "Mountain Women." Millard Lampell wrote, "Mollie Estep's hair is the white of dogwood blossoms, she has flawless skin and an air about her that moves me, something that comes from what I know of the life she led as a coal miner's daughter and a coal miner's wife - she has the native wisdom that comes from growing up close to nature. She is one of those mountain women whose blood sings to nature's rhythms who have depended on the soil and the woods and the weather for life itself. She smiles her blue-eyed smile, putting her arm around my shoulders, hugging me close. She says, goodbye - goodbye Miss Mollie." She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell B. Estep, in 1988; and two sisters, Iva Cox and Reba Hanshew. Survivors include three daughters, Anna Lee Doan of Meadow Bridge, Ramona Lampell of Round Hill, Va., and Billie Sue Horton of Seguin, Texas; a sister, Bernice Sifers of Meadow Bridge; two brothers, Ray H. Gill of Mesa, Ariz., and Walter Boyd Gill of Sebastian, Fla.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Born June 4, 1906, in Mabscott, she was the daughter of the late Luther Curtis and Etha Da-vis Curtis. Mrs. Farley was a former employee of Richmond Cleaners and Laundry and was a personal care giver for many years. She was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church and had lived most of her life in the Oak Grove area. She was preceded in death by three sons, Don, Ray and Tommy Farley; two sisters, Clarice Smith and Doris Curtis; and a brother, Ross Curtis. Born Nov. 6, 1929, in Mullens, he was the son of the late Thomas Harvey Ingram and Susan Lambeth Ingram, both of Mullens. Mr. Ingram worked on the Virginian Railroad for 10 years and Greenbrier and Meadow Gold Dairy for 29 years. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Harvey "Bubba" Ingram of Detroit; and a sister, Judith Reed of Roanoke, Va. Born May 10, 1918, at Fort Spring, she was the daughter of the late Gibson M. and Faye Catherine Beckner Lawrence. Mrs. McDowell was a caregiver to the elderly and was a member of Ronceverte Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clyde McDowell Jr.; and a son, Monty McDowell. Survivors include two sons, Robert Clyde McDowell III of Union and David McDowell of Flat Rock, Mich.; two sisters, Vivian Reed of Lewisburg and Betty Lester of Glen Burnie, Md.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Born Aug. 25, 1947, at Dorothy, she was the daughter of Irene Ferrell Browning of Gallipolis, Ohio, and the late Woodrow Browning. Mrs. Pierpoint was a retired shop owner and beautician of Village Haircutters. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. Other survivors include her husband, Charles Pierpoint, whom she married Aug. 23, 1965, at Naoma; a son, Michael Pierpoint and wife, Deborah, of Mt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Sanger, in 1997; and three sisters, Virginia McLaughlin, Selina Worley and Martha Miller. She was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, a homemaker and a charter member of Crany Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Group of Elk Lick. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Clayton Walker; a son, Leonard Walker; two grandchildren, Rodney Dale Rose and Marvin Anthony Walker; and several brothers and sisters. Mr. Whisman was the owner and operator of Jake's Park for 31 years, a former coal miner and a self-employed carpenter. He attended Lansing Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel H. Mannon Whisman; a stepdaughter, Evelyn Gillispie; three sisters, Ann Ferris, Allie and Callie Dennison; and two brothers, Woodrow and Roscoe Whisman. Survivors include four sons, Carl Whisman of Fayetteville, Lloyd Whisman of Seattle, Earl Whisman of Mt.
