Register Herald Obituaries for January 25, 2000 Mildred M. Beall RUPERT - Mildred Marie Beall, 84, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in a Fairlea medical center following a long illness. Born March 29, 1915, at Gassaway, she was the daughter of the late Moody W. and Ollie Brady Friend. Mrs. Beall was an eight-year resident of The Brier Nursing Home in Ronceverte. She married Roy Lee Beall Sr. in 1935, and lived with him in Rupert until she went to The Brier. Mrs. Beall was a homemaker, and from 1963 until 1990 she helped her husband in the Beall Wrecking and Salvage Yard. She was an active member for many years of the Amwell Baptist Church of Rupert, where she played the piano. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Beall Sr., on Oct. 26, 1994; and a brother, Moody Keith Friend of Tallahassee, Fla. Survivors include a son, Roy Lee Beall Jr. of Rupert; a sister, Elsie P. Born Sept. 17, 1924, at Sandstone, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie Ward Adkins. Mrs. Burdette was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Burdette; a daughter, Alice Walker; four brothers and one sister. Survivors include a son, Roger D. Dangerfield HINTON - Helen Joyce Brown Dangerfield, 70, of Frank Brown Road, died 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, in a New Market, Va., care home. Born Nov. 28, 1929, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Everett "Dink" and Nellie Brown Dangerfield. Ms. Dangerfield was the only grandchild of the late E. Frank and May Brown. She had lived her entire life on the family farm on Tug Creek Mountain, near Hinton. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Estil Davis; three brothers, Harley, Jeff and Roy Davis; and two sisters, Esther Kender and Julie Allen. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and was a veteran having served during World War II as a military police in Germany. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Fondale. Born June 5, 1922, in Vanceburg, Ky., he was a son of the late Robert and Ackey Fraley. Mr. Fraley was a retired truck driver, last employed at Cedar Coal Co. He was a member of UMWA District 17. He was a World War II veteran. While serving in the 5th Army under General Mark Clark, some of his honors included: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, American Theater Service Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, a second Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Fraley attended church at Clear Creek Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Josephine Toney Fraley. They were the first couple to be married in Clear Creek Presbyterian Church. His hobbies included fishing at his pond and watching his grandchildren ride horses. Mr. Vance was retired from General Motors in Cleveland, Ohio, and from mining in Pennsylvania. He was of the Protestant faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sophia Vance; four brothers, Moses Lee, John Robert, Clyde William and Grover Eugene Vance. She was a member of the Emmanuel Open Bible Church, Vago, an Eastern Star member for more than 50 years, the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Cook; her second husband, Henry Yates; and 13 brothers and sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Ellene Chittum of Frankford; a son, Rhel D.
