Born in Colcord, she was the daughter of Kathleen Thompson Kern of Princeton and the late Harry Kern. Mrs. Bailey was employed at Johnsonıs Inn and Restaurant in Princeton for several years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Memorial Post 9696 and the Womenıs Moose of Princeton. She was a past senior regent of the Bluefield Chapter of the Women of the Moose. Other survivors include a son, Terry Bailey and his wife, Frances, of Princeton; a daughter, Tammy Bowles of Princeton; a special friend, Charlie Doddril; a brother, James Cook of Whitesville; a sister, Frances Gillespie and her husband, Bobby, of Chester, Pa.; a niece, Konnie Anderson of Birmingham, Ala.; a nephew, Eric Scott and his wife, Missy, of Falls Mills, Va.; and two stepgrandchildren, Christopher and Carlotta Pendergrass. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Dudley Memorial Chapel, Bluefield, Va., with the Rev. Kenneth Hilling and Paul Amstupz officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield-Tazewell Road. Cole Jr. WALTERBORO, S.C. - Albert Ernest Cole Jr., 73, of 4319 Jefferies Blvd., entered into eternal rest Friday, June 25, 1999, at Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro. Born Jan. 25, 1926, in Mead, he was the son of the late Albert Ernest Cole Sr. and Sylvia Ann Shrewsbury Cole. Mr. Cole retired after 18 years of coal mining, and after 24 years of dedicated service he retired from the U.S. Navy in February 1967 and then entered the Naval Fleet Reserve until he retired in November 1974. While in service he served our country during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a mason and member of Pine Grove Baptist Church No. 1. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Cole. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Bonnie June Gills Cole; two sons, John Albert Cole and Phillip Frazier Cole, both of Walterboro; four daughters, Teresa C. Bell of Walterboro, Tonia C. Parks of Lester, Chloe C. Mullens of Coal City and Linda C. Eley of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; seven brothers, Arlie Cole of Tampa, Fla., Richard Cole of St. Louis, Joel Cole, Dale Cole and Carlos Cole, all of Odd, Tommy Cole of Indianapolis and John Cole of Beckley; two sisters, Lorene C. Norma L. Ellison FAYETTEVILLE - Norma Lee Kelly Ellison, 70, died Thursday, July 1, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a long battle with cancer. Born Dec. 3, 1928, in Dempsey, she was the daughter of the late Willie E. and Mable Suttle Kelly. Mrs. Ellison was a housewife. She attended Salem Road Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Doyle W. Ellison; five sons, Terry Smith and his wife, Marie, of Fayetteville, Sherman Smith and his wife, Jannie, of Fayetteville, Joe Ellison and his wife, Sharon, of Fayetteville, Rex Ellison of Fayetteville and Gary Smith and his wife, Ruth, of Oak Hill; four daughters, Rita Hylton and her husband, J.R., of Beckley, Vanessa Via and her husband, Mark, of Fayetteville, Brenda Neff and her husband, Mickey, of Fayetteville and Rebecca Dillon and her husband, Jeff, of Sherman, Texas; two brothers, Burford Kelly of Fayetteville and Charles Kelly of Fayetteville; two sisters, Florence Neal of Fayetteville and Betty Backus of Fayetteville; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Kinsley ALLEN JUNCTION - Opal Virginia Kinsley, 71, died Thursday, July 1, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born Oct. 14, 1927, in McComas, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Glenn Lusk Gillenwater. Mrs. Kinsley was a 52-year resident of Allen Junction, attended the Baptist Church of Corinne and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, James H. Kinsley; three sisters, Eva Wright and Zelma Bailey, both of Ballard, and Ruth Young of Corinne; three brothers, Sidney and Darrell Gillenwater, both of Lashmeet, and Donald Gillenwater of Ballard; 34 nieces and nephews; and 29 great nieces and nephews. Services will be noon today at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with the Rev. Judy Farley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Stover, 64, died Thursday, July 1, 1999, at his home following a long illness. Born June 15, 1935, in Robson, he was the daughter of the late Everette Roscoe and Ola Mae Rollins Stover. Mr. Stover was a disabled coal miner, having been employed by New River Co. He was a member of United Mine Workers District 29 and Summerlee Local 6046. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, Alfred and Lucky Stover; and two sisters, Colleen Stover and Ora Eads. Survivors include his wife, Dreama Stover; two sons, Junior McKinney of Page and Kevin Stover of Rock Lick; two daughters, Patricia Lilly and Kathy Comer, both of Oak Hill; two brothers, Jesse Stover and Sherman Stover, both of Robson; four sisters, Katie Taylor, Mary Taylor and Janice Bailey, all of Loudonville, Ohio, and Patsy Bailey of Ohio; and three grandsons, Jeremy Stover, Mark Comer and Aaron Comer. Ralph Sutton CROSS LANES - Ralph Sutton, 65, formerly of Beckley, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston. Mr. Sutton was retired from Guardian Food Service, a former employee of Valley Bell and a former member of the National Guard. He was a 38-year resident of Cross Lanes. Survivors include his caregiver, Ann Akers of Cross Lanes; two daughters, Angie Turner of Beckley and Polly White of St. Albans; two sisters, Aileen Maggi of Palm Coast, Fla., and Auldeen Planey of Chula Vista, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three nieces. Services were 2 p.m. Friday, July 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Ron Saunders and Pastor David Miles officiating. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
