Register Herald Obituaries for July 12, 1999 Pasquale Belcastro SMITHERS - Pasquale "Pat" Belcastro, 76, died Sunday, July 11, 1999, at his home following a long illness. Born April 5, 1923, in Boomer, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Arcuri Belcastro. Mr. Belcastro was a lifelong resident of Fayette County and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montgomery. He was the former owner and operator for 30 years of The Plaza in Smithers. Mr. Belcastro was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II and in Europe. He was also a member of Gauley Bridge Post No. 8366, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Gauley Bridge. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Nick Belcastro, Sam Belcastro and John Belcastro; and two sisters, Isabel Belcastro and Sarafina Belcastro. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Javins Belcastro; three daughters, Patty Ferrell of Smithers, Lisa Painter of Beards Fork and Mary Richmond of Friendswood, Texas; four sisters, Connie Yaquinta of Smithers, Katie Stamper of Montgomery, Rose Thompson of South Amboy, N.J. and Teresa Holstein of Nagadoches, Texas; and five grandchildren, Christy Ferrell of Charleston, Jill Ferrell of Morgantown, Nick Painter and Michael Painter, both of Beards Fork, and Emily Richmond of Friendswood, Texas. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Shrine Catholic in Boomer with Father Paul Wharton as celebrant. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London with military honors provided by Gauley Bridge Post No. 8366 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, where a Christian wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Arrangements by O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery. Rudy S. Johnson RUPERT - Rudy S. Johnson, 80, passed away Saturday, July 10, 1999, at his home following a long illness. Born Nov. 4, 1918, in Anawalt, he was the son of the late Robert and Rhoda Jane Belcher Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Adams Johnson of Rupert; four sons, Sherman Johnson of White Sulphur Springs, Calvin Johnson and wife Ila of Syracuse, N.Y., Danny Johnson of Rupert and Darrell Johnson and wife Theresa of Rupert; three daughters, Tiny Walters and husband John of Charmco, Betty Hunter and husband Bob of Alexandria, Va., and Helen Hizer of Detroit; two sisters, Linnie Crabtree and Mildred Miller both of Anawalt; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and special care giver, Rose Jones of Rupert. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Coy Baker officiating. Burial will follow at End of the Trail Cemetery at Clintonville.
