Comer PRINCETON -- Charles Edward Comer, 57, of 210 Carter Drive, off Old Oakvale Road, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, in an Albuquerque, N.M., medical center. Born July 19, 1941, in Mercer County, he was the son of Lenora Amos Comer of Adairs Run, near Kellysville, and the late Raymond H. Comer Sr. Mr. Comer was a graduate of Oakvale High School. He had been a professional driver for North American Van Lines Corp. of America since the early 1960s, having driven more than 2 million miles without an accident. During his career he was recognized by his company and other professional driving organizations. He was named Driver of the Year for North American Van Lines as well as Hauler of the Year. He had received the Van Guard Award and many safety awards as well. He was preceded in death by an infant sister. Other survivors include his wife of 35 years, Phyllis Lee Lilly Comer; a daughter, Sandy Comer of Princeton; three brothers, Raymond H. Comer Jr. and his wife, Geneva, of Fort Washington, Md., William A. Comer and his wife, Patricia, of Pearisburg, Va., and James E. Comer and his wife, Janice; and four sisters, Nancy Long and Carolyn Comer, both of Adairs Run Road, Linda C. Taylor of Summersville and Betty Bennett and her husband, Phillip, of Salem, Va. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Burns-Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory, Athens Road, Princeton, with Michael Lynn officiating. Burial will follow in Crews Family Cemetery, Nimitz. O'Neal Hattie Lillian O'Neal, 94, of Crab Orchard, died at 12:45 a.m. Friday, June 18, 1999, of natural causes in a Beckley care facility. Born Sept. 15, 1904, at Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Susie Snuffer O'Neal. Miss O'Neal was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. She was preceded in death by a brother, Perry O'Neal. Survivors include a sister, Margie Priddy of Crab Orchard; a brother, Russell O'Neal of Crab Orchard; a niece, Karen O'Neal of Columbus, Ohio; three nephews, Don Priddy of Sophia and Max and Larry Priddy, both of Crab Orchard; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Pastor Edward Garten and Ray Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Spielman Shirley N. Spielman, 70, of 251 Division St., Shady Spring, died at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born March 11, 1929, in Pitcairn, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles O. Gray and Mildred Swauger Gray. Mrs. Spielman was a homemaker, a 27-year resident of Shady Spring and was of the Presbyterian faith. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Charles Gray; and an infant sister, Dorothy Gray. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Donald Spielman; a son, Steve Spielman and his wife, Linda, of Oil City, Pa.; two daughters, Linda Mannion and her husband, Jack, of Monroeville, Va., and Delores Truhar and her husband, Dennis, of Butler, Pa.; a brother, Wayne Gray of Apollo, Pa.; two sisters, Violet Hoffner of Pitcairn, Pa., and Joyce Cole of Cochranton, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. There will be no funeral services. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel.
