Register Herald Obituaries for June 23, 1999 Clara Neely Jones OAK HILL -- Clara Ingles Neely Jones, 87, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at a Hilltop care center following a short illness. Born Sept. 7, 1911, at old Ajax, Fayette County, she was the oldest daughter of the late Bernard Earl Ingles and Hattie Belle Ryan Ingles. On Dec. 24, 1930, she married Lacy A. Neely, a coal miner, and they lived at Cunard until about 1940. Mr. Neely was a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates from 1940 until being elected in 1944 as county clerk of Fayette County. He died Dec. 2, 1950, and Mrs. Neely was not permitted to serve her husband's term. With support from Fayette County coal miners and the UMWA, she won a special election in 1952 and served the people of Fayette County as their county clerk for 22 years. She was commended many times for the fair and efficient manner in which she managed the clerk's office. She retired in 1974. After being a widow for almost 20 years and seeing all of her children grown, she married Lawrence E. Jones, and they shared nearly 12 years together until his death in 1982. She enjoyed family and friends at her home in East End Oak Hill for more than 50 years. She was also preceded in death by three sons, infant sons James A. Neely in 1932 and Lacy A. Neely Jr. in 1944, and her youngest son, Kenneth C. Neely in 1982; and her oldest grandson, Lacy Neely in 1981. Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Charles L. Neely of Raleigh, N.C., and Robert E. Neely of Oak Hill; a daughter, Mona Golbach of Niles, Ill.; two brothers, Bernard Ingles of Missoula, Mont., and Roy Ingles of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Stella Porter of Orlando, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Ralph Shupe officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Lively MADISON -- Richard Michael "Rich" Lively, 46, of Madison, Boone County, formerly of Rupert, died Sunday, June 20, 1999. Born Sept. 7, 1952, in Ronceverte, he was the son of Alma Webb Lively of Rupert and the late Melvin Harold Lively, who preceded him in death in 1995. Mr. Lively was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church, Rupert, and the Moose Lodge, and was a contractor and heavy equipment operator. Other survivors include his wife, Beverly Ann Walters Lively; four daughters, Chastity Lynn Di Francesco and her husband, Stefan, of Somerset, Pa., Courtney Lee Lively and Lindsay Ann Lively, both of Rupert, and Candice Lauren Lively of Madison; three sons, Paxton Jeffrey and his wife, P.J., of Charleston and twin sons Parker James Lively and Paul Jennings Lively, both of Madison; and three grandchildren, Zachary Paxton Lively, Chloe Elizabeth Ellenburg and Connie Grace Di Francesco. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Charles Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Manahan MARIETTA, Ga. -- James Edmond Manahan, 64, formerly of Rainelle, died Saturday, June 19, 1999, in Marietta following a sudden illness. Mr. Manahan was a native of Kansas City, Mo., having lived in Cobb County, Ga., since 1972. He was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, Marietta, and Knights of Columbus Lodge No. 10362, Marietta. Mr. Manahan was an employee of Kraft Tools in Kansas City and a sales representative of J-J Manahan and Associates in Marietta. Survivors include his wife, Jackie Johnson Manahan; a son, Todd Manahan of Aeworth, Ga.; a daughter, Leslie Dawn Manahan of Valdosta, Ga.; a sister, Marcella M. Inman of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. today at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Marietta, with the Rev. Joseph Morris officiating. Robinson BOSTON -- Yvonne Marcella Willis Robinson, 62, formerly of Summerlee, died Saturday, June 19, 1999, in Boston following a long illness. Born Feb. 23, 1937, in Summerlee, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Eva Mae Willis. Ms. Robinson was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two brothers, Maryland Willis of Whiple and James Thomas Willis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Joan Coleman and Ramona Coles, both of Whipple, and Rudell Selvy of Summerlee; an aunt, Evelyn Hooper of Page; two nephews, Keith Allen and Greg Allen, both of Cleveland; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Walker Lela E. Riddle Walker, 78, of Sophia, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at her home following a short illness. Born March 30, 1921, in Morehead, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Ora and Isabel Nickell Riddle Arnette Justice. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and a former LPN with Southern West Virginia Clinic. She worked for Ben Franklin for several years. She was a member of Sophia Freewill Baptist Church for 49 years and a member of the Women's Auxiliary at the church for many years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and cherished her family. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Thurman Riddle; and a great-granddaughter, Bethany Taylor Patton. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Fred T. Walker; three sons, Charles R. Walker and his wife, Mary, of Lexington, Ky., Judson Walker and his wife, Norma, of Bluefield, and Gary W. Walker and his wife, Mildred, of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Roy E. Riddle and his wife, Marietta, of Cabot, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Janay Miller of New York City, Debbi Miller of Beckley, Mark Walker of Boca Raton, Fla., Wayne Walker of Athens, Ga., Jeffery Walker of Beckley, Tamara Patton of Bluefield, Jacqueline Walker of Morgantown, Michelle Hauck of Palm Bay, Fla., and Stacie Walls of Lexington, Ky.; and seven great-grandchildren.
