Register Herald Obituaries for May 7, 1999 Greta Sheppard BRUNSWICK, Ohio - Greta "Danille" Sheppard, 59, formerly of Glen Rogers, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, in an Ohio hospital. Born Dec. 29, 1939, at Glen Rogers, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Erma Guthrie. Mrs. Sheppard had been a resident of Medina County, Ohio, for many years. She was a retired letter carrier in Brunswick, was a home health care assistant and worked for Ann Tubbs Estates Assisted Community of Medina. Survivors include three daughters, Diana Sheppard of Pensacola, Fla., Terri (Ignacio) Marquez of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Sharon Sheppard of Rocky River, Ohio; a sister, Shirley Buttrick of Charleston; a brother, Michael Guthrie and his wife, Carla, of Charleston; and four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Davis and Cassandra and Carmelita Marquez. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home Chapel, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick, with the Rev. Richard Powers officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgeville Cemetery, North Ridgeville, Ohio. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements by Carlson Funeral Home, Brunswick. Norma J. Strickland OCEANA - Norma Jean Strickland, 66, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, in a Man hospital following a long illness. Born Feb. 2, 1933, in Logan, she was the daughter of the late Roy Elkins and Nina Graham Elkins. Mrs. Strickland was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, was employed by the former Wyoming General Hospital as a nurses' aide and attended Delilah Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Strickland; and three brothers, Ronald, Arnold and Arnett Elkins. Survivors include a son, James Strickland and his wife, Cathy, of Oceana; three sisters, Wanda Jeffcoate and her husband, James, of Pineville, Arlene Bowes and her husband, Donald, of Oceana and Yvonne Heath and her husband, Paul, of Oceana; and a granddaughter, Lisa Strickland, and a grandson, Shawn Strickland, both of Oceana. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. Tim Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
