Register Herald Obituaries for May 9, 1999 Dollie Kathleen Bibb OAK HILL - Dollie Kathleen Bibb, 88, formerly of Ansted, died Friday, May 7, 1999, in an Oak Hill hospital following a long illness. Born Feb. 12, 1911, in Ansted, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ida Blackburn Cashion. Mrs. Bibb was a resident of Hidden Valley Health Care Center in Oak Hill for the past two years and prior to that she had lived in Ansted all of her life. She was a member of Ansted Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her son, Earl K. "Jack" Bibb, in September 1997; two sisters, Carrie M. Eades and Deen C. Dever; and two brothers, Joseph P. Cashion and John T. Cashion Sr. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marilene Bibb, with whom she made her home prior to the health care center; three grandchildren, Thomas E. Bibb and his wife, Penny, of Oak Hill, Dean K. Bibb of Ansted and Kathy Wood of Charleston; and three great-grandchildren, Jon, Shawnea and Christy. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Ansted, with the Revs. Jack Eades and Roy G. Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor. Chilidonia CHARMCO - George Raymond "Red" Chilidonia, 82, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at a Greenbrier County medical center following a long illness. Born Aug. 16, 1916, at Potts Creek, Va., he was the son of the late Nick and Mary Katherine McDaniel Chilidonia. Mr. Chilidonia had lived in Charmco for the past 62 years and was a 50-year member of Midland Trail Masonic Lodge No. 166. He was also a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by two sons, Julian Ray and George Chilidonia Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Loudermilk of Tabb, Va., and Phyllis Jean Chilidonia of Rainelle; two sons, Patrick Chilidonia of Escondita, Calif., and Nick Chilidonia of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Greg Scott officiating. Gussie Mae Foster Gussie Mae Foster, 90, of Prosperity, formerly of Beckley, died Friday, May 7, 1999, in a Hilltop care center following a long illness. Born Feb. 2, 1909, at Crumpler, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Jones and Maude Painter Jones. Mrs. Foster was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She made her home in Prosperity for the past three years, having lived many years on Hartley Avenue, Beckley. She was also the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther L. Foster, in 1987; a daughter, Joy Foster; a son, Freddie Foster; four brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Joey Smith. Survivors include two sons, Bill Foster and his wife, Edie, of Newark, Del., and Richard Foster of Tampa, Fla.; seven daughters, Debbie Foster of Prosperity, with whom she made her home, Linda Quigley and Norma Smith, both of Newark, Del., Vickie Holly of Glasgow, Del., Dorothy Morrison of Van Nuys, Calif., Nancy Holly and her husband, Lacy, of Ghent and Ruth Allen and her husband, Frank, of Safety Harbor, Fla.; 30 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. Ramsey Emery Lester "Les" Ramsey, 75, of Beckley, died Friday, May 7, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born May 15, 1923, in Greenbrier County, he was the son of the late Emery J. and Nanny Blake Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey was employed by NCR Corp. for 42 years. He was a member of United Methodist Temple, where he served as chairman of Willing Workers. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ramsey; and a sister, Emma Sidenstricker. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Kathleen McGraw Ramsey; a son, Michael Ramsey and his wife, Kitty, of Roanoke, Va.; a daughter, Ellen Okes and her husband, John, of Beckley; seven brothers, Cecil Ramsey and his wife, Madeline, of Peterstown, Frank Ramsey and his wife, Mary, of Lewisburg, John Ramsey and his wife, Thelma, of Elyria, Ohio, James Ramsey and his wife, Alice, of Fort Spring, Robert Ramsey of Sparta, Tenn., William Ramsey and his wife, Juanita, of Fairlea and Ernest Ramsey and his wife, Carol, of Roanoke; three grandsons, Frank and Todd Selbe of Roanoke and Mac Selbe of Memphis, Tenn.; and a granddaughter, Tara Michelle Oakes of Beckley. Born March 14, 1944, in Stotesbury, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Pauline Walters Taylor. Mr. Taylor was the executive vice president of United National Bank in Sophia, where he was employed for 30 years. He was a member of the American Red Cross and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Mabscott. He was a former councilman for the town of Sophia and past member of the Sophia Area Jaycees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Taylor. Born Aug. 9, 1948, in Page, he was the son of the late Junior Ira Trail and Versie Mae Lilly Trail Foley. Mr. Trail was a disabled veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired health service worker at Pinecrest Hospital and had been a McGraws resident for the past seven years. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Trail. Whittaker Goldie Marie Goff Whittaker, 84, of 227 Clyde St., Beckley, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at a Beckley nursing home following a long illness. Born June 21, 1914, in Minden, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin R. Goff and Vada Lemon Goff. Mrs. Whittaker was a retired employee of G. C. Murphy Co. in Beckley and had lived most of her life in Beckley. She was of the Church of God faith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hobart Biggs; her second husband, Leonard Payne; her third husband, Walter Whittaker; three brothers, Nathan, Walter and Wiley Goff; four sisters, Hester Harrah, Ethel Allen, Maude Lane and Susie Mann; and a granddaughter, Lorelea Adams Reed.
