Register Herald Obituaries for May 10, 1999 Dollie Kathleen Bibb OAK HILL -- Dollie Kathleen Bibb, 88, formerly f Ansted, died Friday, May 7, 1999, in an Oak Hill hospital following a long illness. Born Feb. 12, 1911, in Ansted, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ida Blackburn Cashion. Mrs. Bibb was a resident of Hidden Valley Health Care Center of Oak Hill for the past two years, and prior to that she had lived in Ansted all of her life. She was a member of the Ansted Baptist Church of Ansted and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bibb, in 1963; one son, Earl K. "Jack" Bibb, in September 1997; two sisters, Carrie M. Eades and Deen C. Dever; two brothers, Joseph P. Cashion and John T. Cashion Sr. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marilene Bibb, with whom she made her home prior to the health care center; three grandchildren, Thomas E. Bibb and his wife, Penny, of Oak Hill, Dean K. Bibb of Ansted and Kathy Wood of Charleston; three great-grandchildren, Jon, Shawnea and Christy. Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted with the Rev. Jack Eades and the Rev. Roy G. Crist officiating. Dallas Edward Bragg ANSTED -- Dallas Edward Bragg, 71, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born June 27, 1927, at Mill Creek, he was the son of the late John Lewis and Ella Mae Adkins Bragg. Mr. Bragg was a member of the Graydon Baptist Church at Graydon, a retired coal miner and a lifelong resident of An-sted. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Louise Bragg, in August 1989; one daughter, Billie Jean Bragg, in 1958; and one son, Dallas Edward Bragg Jr., in 1951. Survivors include five daughters, Alice Marie Varney of Dothan, Vickie Roark of Scarbro, Shirley Ann Grose of Edmond, Judy Kay Bellew of Thomasville, N.C., and Joyce Lynn Bragg of Clay; five sons, Howard Franklin Bragg of Hico, Danny Allen Bragg of Quantico, Va., Larry Joe Bragg of Victor, Willie Edward Bragg of Gates, N.C., and Ronnie Lee Bragg of Jodie; four sisters, Goldie Bragg of Ansted, Ernestine Duncan of Ansted, Gladys Parks of Ansted and Loriane Sampson of Fayetteville; one brother, Johnny Bragg of An-sted; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Cahoon OAK HILL -- Edith Virginia McClung Cahoon, 93, formerly of Fayetteville, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, in an Oak Hill medical center following a short illness. Born June 19, 1905, in Sulphur Springs, near Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Lewis P. and Cora Lee Wilson Henley. Mrs. Cahoon was a homemaker and a member of the Minden Missionary Baptist Church, and she attended the Fayetteville Church of God. She was also a former Sunday school teacher at the now closed Wesleyan Church, Fayetteville, and she was the fourth of 12 children born to the late Lewis and Cora Lee Henley. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank B. McClung, in 1962; her second husband, Earl T. Cahoon, in 1985; one son, Bernard "Moe" McClung; son-in-law, Otis Young; grandson, Billy Jo McClung; four brothers and six sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Audrey Young of Oak Hill; two sons, Russell H. McClung and his wife, Polly Joe, of Rock Creek, Ohio, and the Rev. Ray S. McClung and his wife, Lucille, of Oak Hill; one daughter-in-law, Anna Mae McClung of Fayetteville; one sister, Lillian Becker of Rock Hall, Md.; a nephew whom she raised, Charles D. Henley and his wife, Faye, of North Canton, Ohio; a former foster son, the Rev. David Hurd of Christiansburg, Va.; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Freeland Cline NORTH SPRING -- Freeland Cline, 81, died Friday, May 7, 1999, in his home. Born Dec. 9, 1917, at Baisden, he was the son of the late Anderson and Laura Davis Cline. Mr. Cline was a retired coal miner and a member of the Little Cub Creek Memorial Baptist Church at North Spring and the UMWA. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Sadie Lester, Lizzie Lester, Artie Lester, Ellie Meade and Ernie Cline; and one brother, Tommy Cline. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Cline of North Springs; one son, Bennie Cline and his wife, Linda, of Ocala, Fla.; three daughters, Loeda Jackson and her husband, Gleason, of Charlotte, N.C., Linda Schiphof and her husband, Don, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Lorraine Green and her husband, Sid, of Pineville; six grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Cline of North Springs and Jay Cline of Gilbert; and two sisters, Merlie Thomas of North Spring and Alma Testerman of Bluewell. Cook Sr. FANROCK -- David H. Cook Sr., 49, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, in a Virginia hospital. Born Dec. 6, 1949, in Rockview, he was the son of Harley Elmer Cook of Pineville and Mary Perdue Haug of Chicago. Mr. Cook was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, a disabled coal miner, and a member of Local Union 7692 of the UMWA. He was also a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Army, was an avid sportsman, and served as a Little League coach. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Smith Cook of Fanrock; two sons, David H. Cook Jr. and daughter-in-law Melissa "Missy" Cook of Buffalo, N.Y., and Shawn D. Cook; one daughter, Lisa Ann Cook of Cincinnati; two sisters, Arlene Johnson and her husband, James, of Brenton, and Darlene Ellison and her husband, Jack, of Mount Storm; one brother, Dallas "Grant" Cook of Dean, Ky.; three half sisters, Curtina Haug and her husband, Greg, Betty Medina and her husband, Frank, and Margaret Brzozowxki and her husband, Tom, all of Chicago; seven half brothers, Allen, Dana, Robert, John, Thomas, James and Kevin Morgan all of Chicago. Bruce Everette Jones Bruce Everette "Pig Eye" Jones, 74, of Pemberton, died Friday, May 7, 1999, in a North Carolina hospital following a long illness. Born May 18, 1924, in Kaylor, Va., he was the son of the late Everette Bruce and Dorsie Vaughan Jones. Mr. Jones spent his childhood at Eccles. A resident of Charlotte the past six months, he had lived in Pemberton since 1995, coming from Soak Creek. He was of the Christian faith. A retired coal miner, he last worked at Eccles No. 6. He was a member of the UMWA District 29, Local Union 5770. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Frost and Roxie Mae Jones; and two brothers, Ray Jones and John Paul Jones. Survivors include his best friend and former wife, Gloria Jones of Sophia; three sons, Harlen Jones and his wife, Joyce, of Millville, N.J., James "Jimmy" Jones and his wife, Louise, of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., and Donald Jones and his fiancee, Sherri, of Denver, N.C.; two daughters, Rose Harris and her husband, Dana, of Charlotte, N.C., and Drema Jones of Pemberton; 12 grandchildren, Linda, Jamie, Harlen Jr., Misty, Cassandra, Crystal, Jacob, James II, Tiffany, Priscilla, Dana II and Chelsa; three great-grandchildren, Rikki Sky, Destiny and Jasmine; six brothers, Howard Jones of Live Oak, Fla., Ray Jones of Harvey, Bobby Jones of North Royalton, Ohio, Roger Jones of Millville, N.J., Charlie Jones of Weirsdale, Fla., and Frankie Jones of Eccles; and two sisters, Irene Starkey of Clyde, N.C., and Virginia Williams of Ocklawaha, Fla.
