Chilidonia CHARMCO - George Raymond "Red" Chilidonia, 85, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at a Greenbrier County medical center following a long illness. Born Aug. 16, 1916, in Potts Creek, Va., he was the son of the late Nick and Mary Katherine McDaniel Chilidonia. Mr. Chilidonia was a retired coal miner who had lived in Charmco for the past 62 years. He was also a 50-year member of Midland Trail Masonic Lodge No. 166. He was preceded in death by two sons, Julian Ray and George Chilidonia, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Loudermilk of Tabb, Va., and Phyllis Jean Chilidonia of Rainelle; two sons, Patrick Chilidonia of Escondita, Calif., and Nick Chilidonia of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Wallace and Wallace Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Greg Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, with graveside rites by Midland Trail Masonic Lodge No. 166. Friends called 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle. Shirley E. Handley Shirley E. Handley, 57, of Shady Spring, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at her home following a long illness. Born Jan. 5, 1942, in Everette, Ky., she was the daughter of Ethel Adams Way of Sprague and the late Cordell Way. Mrs. Handley was a homemaker and a member of Sprague Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Wayne Handley; three sons, Robert Handley and his wife, Tammy, of Bradley, Danny Handley and his wife, Kim, of Wilson, N.C., and Randy Handley and his wife, Robin, of Old Fort, N.C.; five brothers, Robert Way of Medina, Ohio, Bill Way of Sprague, Jimmy Way of Beckley, Johnny Way of Crab Orchard and Jerry Way of Easley, S.C.; six grandchildren, Kevin and Kristen Handley of Bradley, Alyssa and Jonathan Handley of Wilson, N.C., and Jennifer and Joseph Handley of Old Fort, N.C. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Sprague Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Lovell officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, and one hour before services Thursday at the church. Lusk STEPHENSON - Charles A. Lusk, 38, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a sudden illness. Born Jan. 17, 1961, at Stephenson, he was the son of Cecil and Virginia Faye Robertson Lusk of Stephenson. Mr. Lusk was employed by the railroad with 10 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. Lusk Jr.; and two brothers, Andrew and Jody Lusk. Other survivors include two sons, Andrew Lusk of Stephenson and Chadrick Lusk of Baileysville; two daughters, Crystal Lusk of Stephenson and Misty Walker of Baileysville; and three sisters, Barbara Foley, Rebecca Combs and Drema Bailey, all of Stephenson. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Basin Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Lusk Family Cemetery, Basin. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Williams-Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia, and one hour before services Thursday at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
