Born Dec. 24, 1905, in Bumpass, Va., he was the son of the late Littleton Coleman Burruss and Bertha Catherine Meeks. Mr. Burruss was a member of Keeneys Creek Baptist Church, Winona, and a lifetime member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1606, Beckley. He was also a retired foreman of C&O Railway with 46 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Florence Richmond Burruss; three daughters, Barbara "Judy" Conley of Spencer, Jean "Mickey" Secrist of Winona and Jewell Vilacha of Union, N.J.; two sons, Robert Burruss of Conway, S.C., and Alan Burruss of Winona; two sisters, Catherine Lacy of Mosley, Va., and Bertha Burkes of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Ashton Burruss of Stafford, Va., and Thomas Burruss of Midlothian, Va.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Carter, 79, died Friday, May 21,1999, in a Fairlea nursing home following a long illness. Born July 13, 1919, in Hollywood, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William C. and Willie Beane Craig. Mrs. Carter was a lifelong resident of Alderson, a member of the Church of God, a former employee of Greenbrier Laundry, Ronceverte, and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arbie L. Carter, on May 24, 1997. Survivors include two sisters, Margarete Bond of Vinton, Ga., and Sarah Gourney of Georgetown, Texas; a brother, James Craig Sr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Born June 5, 1905, in Ramp, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bridget Hurley Dick. Mr. Dick was a retired farmer and lived most of his life in Summers County. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Mr. Dick was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include three nephews, Curtis Dick of Oregon, Ohio, Kermit Dick of Oklahoma and Kenneth Dick of Bluefield; and four nieces, Marilea Baylis of West Grove, Pa., Lois Greene of Baltimore, Elizabeth Boone of Salem, Va., and Margie Goerner of Florida. Mrs. Legg had been a resident of Charmco since 1964 and was a member of Newton Memorial Baptist Church, Charmco, and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Alvin Legg, on Oct. 15, 1990; four sisters; and a brother. Born May 2, 1929, at Mount View, he was the son of the late Ira Ray and Virgie Syrilda Lilly. Mr. Lilly served with the U.S. Army. He was a former sawmill operator and former owner and operator of George s Barber Shop, Harper Heights. He was a disabled coal miner from the Eccles No. 6 coal mines and a member of Harper Free Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Juanita June Meadows Lilly; three daughters, Ramona Hartshorn and her husband, Lennis Hartshorn II, of Bolt, Mary Richardson and her husband, Johnny, and Sharon Daniels and her husband, Timmy, all of Harper; two sons, George A. Survivors include her husband, John Makros of Wads-worth, Ohio; a son, James Toler and his wife, Hazel, of Hinton; two daughters, Lois Lott and her husband, Jack, of Barberton, Ohio, and Jo Sizemore and her husband, Kelly, of Sauls-ville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two stepdaughters. Mrs. Underwood was a seamstress at Richmond Cleaners & Laundry, Silver Brand Clothes, Harry s Men s Shop, Leggett s, J.C. Penney and Deri the Tailor. She had been a resident of Crow her entire life and was a member of Crow Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by five half brothers, W.H., A.H., Hobert, Theodore Harrah and Lace Redden; three brothers, Jack, Roy and Elgie Harrah; a half sister, Virgie Jordan; and a sister, Leona "Sally" Burgan. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Waymond C. Underwood; two sons, Jerry W. Underwood and his wife, Barbara, of Conway, S.C., and Roger C.
