Register Herald Obituaries for May 25, 1999 Winona P. Donnaly CLEVELAND - Winona Phillips Donnaly, 70, died at her home Monday, May 17, 1999, following a long illness. Born March 16, 1929, at Otsego, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Leland and Nellie Mae Phillips of Pineville. Mrs. Donnaly was a graduate of Pineville High School and a retired registered nurse in Cleveland. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Fred Phillips and a sister, Juanita Jackson. Survivors include a son, Steven Donnaly of Concord, Ohio; a daughter, Shelia Sage of Cleveland, and three grandchildren; three brothers, Dempsey Phillips of Shady Spring, Tony and Buford Phillips of Pineville, and a sister, June Phillips of Millville, N.J. Services will be Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at the Brickman Funeral Home, Euclid, Ohio. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Howard G. Fisher CHARMCO - Howard G.J. Fisher, 78, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, in the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center of complications following surgery. He was the son of the late George James and Katherine G. Sandleladan Fisher of New York City. Mr. Fisher was a decorated World War II veteran of the 9th Army Air Force in Europe. He went on to graduate from Florida Southern in Lakeland, Fla., and Boston University. After graduation he was a special agent for the FBI for many years. He and his wife, Jo, were offshore sailors. They sailed out of the Chesapeake Bay to the Bahama Islands. Survivors include his wife, Jo Fisher of Charmco; a stepdaughter, Terrie Boggs and her husband, John, of Charmco; a stepson, James A. Waller and his wife, Penny, of Stevensville, Md.; and seven stepgrandchildren. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, New Jersey, with the Rev. Jack Stanton of St. Matthew s Episcopal Church. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, White Sulphur Springs, with the Rev. Lada E. Hardwick officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend. Gill Theodore Walton Gill, 93, of Stanaford, died Saturday, May 22, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born Feb. 26, 1906, in Grandview, he was the son of the late Harvey and Nancy Smith Gill. Mr. Gill was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA District No. 29. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Elizabeth Gill; a daughter, Virginia Mae Gill Thompson; and a grandson, Theodore Walton Gill III. Survivors include two sons, Theodore Walton Gill II of Martinez, Ga., and Clarence Junior Gill of Stanaford; two daughters, Rosetta Elizabeth Gill Price of Pinch, Juanita Jane Gill Smith of Stanaford; a sister, Elva Berry of Canton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, with the Rev. Luther Harrison officiating. Hatfield DANESE - Pamela Ann Hatfield, 35, was dead on arrival Monday, May 24, 1999, at a Beckley hospital following a sudden illness. Born Feb. 2, 1964, in Hinton, she was the daughter of Billy Lee and Lena Ann Gwinn Mullins of Danese. Mrs. Hatfield was a 25-year resident of Danese, and was employed by Autumn Way Personal Care Home of Rupert. Survivors include her husband, Billy Franklin Hatfield; two sons, Aaron Michael Bennett and Ryan Franklin Hatfield, both at home; a sister, Beverly Mullins of Danese; three brothers, Billy Ray Mullins of Fayetteville, N.C., James Mullins and his wife, Shelley, and Johnny Mullins, all of Danese; two nieces, Courtney Mullins and Autumn Mullins; and two nephews, Randon and Rodney Mullins. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Alan Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in Patton Cemetery, Meadow Bridge. Keaton, 45, of Ghent, died Monday, May 24, 1999, in a Beckley hospital. Born July 5, 1953, in Odd, he was the son of Clemma Akers Keaton of Odd, and the late Wayne Keaton. Mr. Keaton was self employed as a contractor. He was a member of Westview Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Wayne Keaton. Other survivors include his wife, Margie Meadows Keaton; two sons, Shandy Keaton of Ghent and Kevin Keaton of Ghent; five brothers, Denny Keaton of Manassas, Va., Jimmy Keaton of Centerville, Va., Larry Keaton of Delaplane, Va., Lendell Keaton of Rixleyville, Va. and Jim Keaton of Ghent and two sisters, Regina Ellison of Nimitz and Leona Lilly of Flat Top. Private services will be today at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bud Israel officiating. Burial will follow in Tom Lilly Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
