Register Herald Obituaries for November 20, 1999 Margit E. Bragg Margit E. Taraczkozy Bragg, 79, of Beckley, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at her home following a long illness. Born Aug. 27, 1920, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Marosi Taraczkozy. Mrs. Bragg was a retired medical transcriptionist and former owner of M.E.B. Secretarial Service. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, a local artist and past member of the Beckley Art Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. "Lee" Bragg, on Dec. 23, 1983; two sisters, Elizabeth Dzurochin and Zilma Myers; and seven brothers, Steve, Baler, Joseph, Frank, Louis, Alex and Bill Taraczkozy. Survivors include two daughters, Tara Bragg of Norfolk, Va., and Lisa Keffer of Beckley; a sister, Olga Starks of Grovetown, Ga.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Beckley, with Father Pericles Malacoman officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Darnell OAK HILL - Hannah Nicole Darnell, stillborn infant daughter of Will Darnell and Heather Chapman of Oak Hill, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, in a Beckley hospital. Other survivors include her maternal grandparents, Harold and Judy Fairburn of Taylorsville, N.C.; maternal aunt, Nicki Fairburn of Taylorsville; maternal great-aunt, Margaret Leake of Powellton; and maternal great-uncle, Frank Yurkins of Oak Hill. Services will be 2 p.m. today at High Lawn Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Janet McNeal officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Hatfield Harry McDonald Hatfield, 75, of Bolt, formerly of Oceana, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, of natural causes. Mr. Hatfield was a 14-year Navy veteran, having served during World War II. He was well known and beloved in the community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hatfield, of Boston; his father, Millard Hatfield of Oceana; his mother, Georgia Williams Henderson of Huntington; and his stepmother, Bertha Hatfield Toler of Oceana. Survivors include three sisters, Agnes V. Adkins of Bolt, Margaret Webb of White Pine, Tenn., and Delphia Ransbottom of Huntington; a brother, Merideth Earl "Mert" Billups of Florida; two nephews, James O. Adkins Jr. and his wife, Linda, and Millard D. Adkins and his wife, Stephanie, all of Bolt; four great-nephews and great-nieces; and six great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces. O'Neal, 62, formerly of Charleston, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a sudden illness. Born May 4, 1937, in Fayetteville, he was the son of the late Wheeler and Gertrude Henley O'Neal. Mr. O'Neal was retired owner and operator of Industrial Expansion Supply Inc. in Chelyan for 17 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Charleston. He was a graduate of the University of Charleston, a member of the University of Charleston Athletic Hall of Fame and served in the Marine Corps. Survivors include three sons, Richard G. O'Neal, Stanton H. O'Neal and Bradford L. O'Neal, all of Charleston; five brothers, Wheeler O'Neal of Worchester, Mass., Daniel O'Neal, Kimberton O'Neal and Winston O'Neal, all of Fayetteville, and Randal O'Neal of Logan; six sisters, Olive Foultz of Lancaster, Pa., Margaret Crites of Columbus, Ohio, Bernice Bailey of Marengo, Ohio, Rosemary Crum of Logan, Elizabeth Whitt of Sanbury, Ohio, and Janet Whitt of Johnstown, Ohio.
