Register Herald Obituaries for September 11, 1999 D. Pamela Cabe D. Pamela Cabe, 48, of Fairdale, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, at Beckley. Born June 30, 1951, at Beckley, she was the daughter of Ross and Geraldine Jones Phipps of Beckley. Mrs. Cabe was office personnel at Richmond Cleaners with nine years of service. She was a 1969 graduate of Trap Hill High School and had been a Fairdale resident most of her life. She was of the Episcopal faith and was an active member of the community. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her husband, taking pride in her children and enjoying her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her biological father, Albany Milam Jr.; her father-in-law, James Earl Cabe Sr.; and her maternal grandparents, Buster and Hilda Daniels. Other survivors include her husband of 28 years, James Earl Cabe Jr.; a son, James Albany Cabe of Fairdale; two daughters, Danette Lynne Cabe and Amy Lang Cabe, both of Morgantown; two granddaughters, Daysha LaDawn Mills and Kailey Breanne Cabe; two sisters, Barbara Myers and her husband, Dennis, of Schyskill-Haven, Pa., and Harriet Coldiron of Beckley; an aunt, DaGloria Milam-Bsharah of Beckley; a stepbrother, Darrell Phipps of Beckley; a stepsister, Diana Pizzino of Beckley; two nephews, Paul and Patrick Myers of Shamokin, Pa.; her mother-in-law, Christine Cabe of Beckley; and two brothers-in-law, Charles A. Cabe of Glade Springs and Jerry L. Cabe of Cincinnati, Ohio. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Cantley officiating, and a eulogy by Lee Milam. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to the Make a Wish Foundation of Southern West Virginia, 623 Lee St., West Charleston, WV 25302. Born May 10, 1922, at Union, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary E. Wilson Taylor. Mrs. Honaker was a retired cook with the Monroe County Board of Education and was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall J. Honaker, on Jan. 20, 1982; two brothers, Paul and Kyle Taylor; and a sister, Alice Meadows. Survivors include four sons, Marvin and John Honaker, both of Union, Leslie Honaker of Clifton Forge, Va., and Edison Honaker of Hopewell, Va.; three sisters, Gillie Law of Union, Margaret McCutcheon of White Sulphur Springs, and Nellie Bowling of Chicago, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Broyles-McGuire Funeral Home, Union, with the Revs. Mikel Pugh and Bob Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Union. Jewell JESSE ­ Olen James Jewell, 81, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, at his home following a long illness. Born Feb. 26, 1918, at Keyrock, he was the son of the late William Harrison and Virgie Halsey Jewell. Mr. Jewell was a retired coal mine foreman and a former member of Oceana Rotary Club. He was a member of Bellemeade Baptist Church at Sabine, where he was a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He was a former justice of peace of Oceana for 12 years. He was retired from the Wyoming County Board of Education. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Della Surbaugh Jewell; his second wife, Evelyn Conley Jewell; a son, Jerry Jewell; a daughter, Nellie F. Jewell; and a brother, Harry Jewell Jr. Survivors include a special friend, Doris Rose of Matheny; two sons, Bill Jewell and his wife, Phyllis, of Beaver, and Jim Jewell and his wife, Connie, of Pineville; two brothers, Vermin Jewell and his wife, Margaret, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., and David Jewell and his wife, Vergie, of Bentley, La.; seven sisters, Ada Brooks and husband, Stacy, of Jesse, Loretta Canterbury and her husband, Clinton, of Denver, N.C., Zelma Stewart and her husband, Homer, of Bluewell, Irene Laxton and her husband, Alfred, of Pineville, and Barbara Brown and her husband, Horace, of Kopperston, Glenna Gilkerson of Pineville and Peggy Mullens of Jesse; five grandsons, James Jewell of Rawlins, Wyo., Lowell Jewell and his wife, Becky, of Lincolnton, N.C., Jonathan Jewell and his wife, Sabrina, of Ridgeway, Va., Fairley Jewell and his wife, Melissa, of Cyclone, and Michael Jewell and wife, Kimberly, of Tulsa, Okla.; a granddaughter, Jessica Jewell of Pineville; three sisters-in-law, Geneva Jewell of Princeton, Nellie Whisenant of Lynco, and Janice Brizendine of Owensboro, Ky.; seven great-grandchildren, three stepgreat-great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. Born Feb. 22, 1927, at Dunns, he was the son of the late R.C. and Elvira Tilley Richmond. Mr. Richmond was a retired coal miner and a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Princeton Congregation. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had been a resident of Camp Creek since 1967. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lessie Hutchens, Sadie Rogers, and Vida Richmond; and five brothers, Willard Lanham, Paris Thomas, Straley Richmond, Wiley Earnest, and Emory Estil Richmond. Survivors include his wife, Patty Lou Ellison Richmond; three daughters, Beverly Elvira Barton of Roanoke, Va., Shirley Cochran and her husband, Harvey, of Christiansburg, Va., and Thelma Frye and her husband, John, of Dublin, Va.; a son, David C. Richmond of Beckley; two granddaughters, Jamie Michelle Barton and Marquita Eads; a great-grandson, Roger Duane Eads Jr.; and two sisters, Cleo E.
