Born Sept. 11, 1914, at Dunns, she was the daughter of the late Ferd and Minnie Skelton Meadows. Mrs. Arthur had lived most of her life at Jumping Branch, was a homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a son, Jarrett Arthur, and three brothers, Vacie, Woodrow and Isador Meadows. Survivors include her husband, Jacob Arthur; a daughter, Geraldine Hogue and husband, John, of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Vesker Meadows, and his wife, Garnet, of Jumping Branch; two sisters, Zettie Young of Shady Spring and Mildred Tolliver and her husband, Stephen, of Cool Ridge; a great-granddaughter, Maggie Hogue of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces, nephews and special friends. Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Bluestone Baptist Church in Jumping Branch, with Pastor Bill Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Hattie W. Boyd Hattie W. Boyd, 81, of Crab Orchard, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born Dec. 25, 1917, at Pratt in Kanawha County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony Moore and Emma Frances Adkins Moore. Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker and a member of the Glen View Holiness Church, and had been a resident of Crab Orchard for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Boyd, in 1982. Survivors include a brother, Desper Moore of Beckley; two half brothers, the Rev. John Martin and his wife, Janet, of Mabscott, and George Martin of Cabell Heights; a half sister, Hazel Scott of Beckley; a stepsister, Delcie Beam of Beckley; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Revs. William "Butch" LeGrand and Reed Green officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove. "Willard" Coffman, 78, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, in an Oak Hill nursing home following a long illness. Born June 4, 1921, at Lawton, he was the son of the late Richard and Nora Tolley Coffman. Mr. Coffman was a retired coal miner, cement finisher and member of the Oak Hill Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Coy Coffman. Survivors include three sons, James W. Coffman of Chester, Va., John Edward Coffman of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Paul Gene Coffman of Pickens, S.C.; two daughters, Mary Ruth McNeely of Fredricksburg, Va., and Sharon Lynn Wriston of Oak Hill; two brothers, Pat Coffman of Beckley and Curtis Coffman of Roanoke, Va.; two sisters, Ruby Jones of Brooklyn and Dollie Forren of Oak Hill; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Daniel, 73, formerly of Beckley, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at his home following a short illness. Born July 6, 1926, in Raleigh County, he was the son of the late Walton Daniel and Eva Gladys Daniel. Mr. Daniel was retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Plant in Charleston, with more than 30 years of service, and he was a newspaper carrier for Charleston Newspapers for seven years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the AFL-CIO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna I. Daniel, in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Joseph W. Daniel of Sutton and Hugh McCormick of Napier; two daughters, Patricia Huffman of Madison and Carol Jacques of Sanford, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Litton, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, in a Princeton hospital following a long illness. Born Sept. 16, 1911, at Clendenin, he was the son of the late William O. and Cora Cobb Litton. Mr. Litton was a retired assistant district superintendent for Cabot Gas. He was a member of the Pineville United Methodist Church and a longtime resident of Pineville. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Delbert and Ellet Litton. Survivors include his half sister, Irene Milam of Sissonville; and several nieces and nephews. Born Aug. 19, 1923, at Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Buster and Hilda Dillon Daniels. Mrs. Phipps was retired from King Photo Supply Co. She was a 10-year member of the Family Support Board and Human Rights Committee at FMRS, a member of Women of the Moose, Beckley Chapter 822, and a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. She was of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by a daughter, D. Pamela Cabe; and a brother, Bernard Jones. Survivors include her husband, Ross L. Phipps; two daughters, Barbara Myers and her husband, Dennis, of Schuylkill Haven, Pa., and Harriet Coldiron of Beckley; a son-in-law, James E. Born Aug. 15, 1914, at Rhonda, she was the daughter of the late Levi Dud and Sarah Jane Wilson Nutter. Mrs. Spearen was a retired social worker for the state of West Virginia. She taught school at Dempsey and was a graduate of West Virginia Tech, member of the Doggett Chapel Methodist Church and member of the Farm Women's Club at Dempsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. Spearen; a daughter, Ardith McKinney; three brothers, Leonard, Clifford and Tommy Nutter; and two sisters, Pauline Hartwell and Nina Faulkner. Born July 14, 1936, at Midway in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Tivis John Chaffin and Effie Mae Eller Pennington. Mrs. Warrick was a hairdresser and member of the Full Gospel Church at Scarbro. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill; and two sisters, Irene Banker and Patsy Summers.
