Obituary For Mrs. W. L. Cook, 1917 "The Raleigh Herald" Newspaper, Beckley WV Friday, 23 Feb. 1917 Pneumonia Proves Fatal -- Mrs. W. L. Cook Survived By Husband And Six Children -- After suffering several days from pneumonia, Mrs. W. L. Cook died at her home at 8:10 Tuesday evening, leaving a husband and six little children, the eldest but eleven years of age. Mrs. Cook was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Williams, of Skelton before her marriage. Both parents, a sister, Miss Lettie Cook, of this city and two brothers survive. Her husband, W. L. Cook is a son of Harvey Cook, former sheriff of Raleigh county. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Baptist church of Mt. Tabor and was an excellent young christian matron. Her death came as a shock to a wide circle of friends in Beckley and the county, being related to the numerous branches of the Williams family, so many of whom reside in this county. Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning by Rev. Legg, her pastor, followed by interment in the Mt. Tabor cemetery.
