Beckley Post-Herald, June 21, 1965
Hubert Maynard Gwinn of Piney View, W.Va., died June 20, 1965, in a Beckley area
hospital after a long illness. He was born April 26, 1907, a son of Enos Gwinn
and Mary Plumley Gwinn. Hubert Gwinn was a World War II veteran and a retired
miner. The funeral was in the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with
additional rites and burial at the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church cemetery
in Abraham, W.Va.

Additional Comments:
The obituary was in the Post-Herald, Beckley, W.Va., on Page 12. The headline
misspells his first name. The article does not mention his wife Pearl Lora Smith
Gwinn, who predeceased him. Mrs. Gwinn died Jan. 19, 1962. She was born Oct. 1,
1910, a daughter of George Washington Smith Jr. of Abraham, W.Va., and his wife
Emma Biars.
