In Randolph County, he married Delilah TETER on the date of November 22, 1819. (Delilah TETER was the sister of Joseph TETER, who had married Patrick Sr's daughter Mary. The parent of Delilah and Joseph was Jacob TETER. On November 1, 1822, Patrick McCAN Jr., was granted a Patent for land in Randolph County, on the Second Big Run, beyond Jacob TETER's place along the Buckhannon River; including an improvement made by Jacob BOARER. This was 60 acres. He seems to have lived there until 1828. His name appears on the Personal Tax List for Randolph County from 1820 to 1827 inclusive, and then is missing. On November 29, 1827 Patrick and Delilah his wife, sold to Joseph TETER, his brother in law, for $150 dollars this 60 acres of land on Second Big Run, mentioned earlier. Recorded April Term 1828. Patrick and Delilah both made their marks. After this sale, Patrick seems to have moved Lewis County to the District on Freeman's where his father Patrick Sr., was living. His name then appears on the Lewis County Personal Tax Lists for 1828, as Patrick Jr., to distinguish himself from his father Patrick McCAN Sr. It continues there until after 1834 when it is missing. On the Census of 1820 he appears in Randolph County as of age 18-26, with wife Delilah. On the Census of 1830 he appears in Lewis County as of age 20 to 30. Children shown: 1 son under 5, 2 daughters of 5 to 10, aand 1 daughter under 5. They later appear in Meigs County, Ohio (Columbia Twp.) in the 1850 Census, with wife Delilah McCAN and children: 1. Eleanor b Va. 1832 2. Armstrong b Va 1836 3. Mary b Va 1840 5. Ruth b Va 1829 6. Isaac, b Va 1843. In the 1860 Census Patrick McCAN Jr., is shown alone with the same children, so it appears that Delilah must have died sometime after 1850. There is a Joseph McCAN, born Va. 1827 with wife Susan, and a daughter, LaVerne. He ilso found in Columbia Twp, Meigs County OH. Perhaps another son of Patrick Jr. and Delilah. There may have been other children as well. The Land Deed mentions the following: Randolph County Recorded the 29th of December 1827 - Justice of the Peace: D. HOLDEN, J.
