The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ********************************************************************** James Pindle & others - 400 acres - Randolph - Examined & Grant delivered to rect. - sent by Mail to Mr. James Pindle, the 19th. of March 1816. - Survey recorded in Book __ pa: __ Wilson Cary Nicholas Esquire Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye that In conformity with a survey made on the 28th. of September 1798 by virtue of a certificate in right of settlement given by the commissioners for adjusting the titles to unpatented lands In the district of Monongalia Yohogania and Ohio, and in consideration of the ancient composition of Eight dollars and Eighty nine cents paid into the Treasury of this commonwealth There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto James Pindle, Elizabeth Britton, wife of Forbes Britton, and late Elizabeth Pindle, Jemimah Davsson [sic] wife of George I: [or J] Davisson, and late Jemimah Pindle, and Rachael Moore wife of Thomas P. Moore, late Rachael Pindle, heirs of Thomas Pindle deceased A certain tract or parcel of land containing Four hundred acres situate in the County of Randolph on glady creek a branch of sugar creek adjoining below lands of John Lewis on said creek, and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at three white oaks, corner to said Lewis, on the south side of Glady creek thence with his line, north Twenty four degrees, East one hundred and ninety six poles to a White oak, corner to George Rennec, thence with his lines, North fifteen degrees, West One hundred and thirty six poles to a poplar and hickory, north seventy five degrees West sixty one poles to six sour Gums and a chesnut, South sixty degrees, West seventy four poles to a white oak, North fifty six degrees, West one hundred and Eleven poles to a white oak, north fifty six degrees, West thirty eight poles to a white oak, north thirty degrees, West thirty six poles to a white oak, South thirty five degrees, West Eighty poles to a rock and three white oaks on the north side of a hill, South Twenty six degrees, East one hundred and forty poles to a maple and hickory and thence South forty three degrees, East two hundred and ninety six poles to the beginning with its appurtenances To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said James Pindle, Elizabeth Britton, Jemimah Davisson and Rachael Moore heirs of Thomas Pindle deceased and their Heirs for ever In Witness whereof the said Wilson C Nicholas Esquire Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia, hath here unto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the Twenty second day of February in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and sixteen & of the commonwealth the fortieth W.
