The home of Mrs. Lawrence (Dausy Goff) Sinnett is on the right side of the highway going toward Tanner. The cemetery is on the pioneer homestead (farm) of Strother and nancy Riddle Goff. Alexander Goff and his wife Elizabeth Riddle Goff were the founders of the Goff family in Ritchie Co., WV. Several of their children came to Ritchie County from Gilmer. Alexander and Elizabeth Goff spent their last years at the home of their son, Strother. Gravestone readings were made by Rella Lindsay and Winnifred Scott on Nov. 11th, 1969 1. E. C. Kerns - son of G.W. & C.M. --b. Dec. 22, 1891 - d. Sept. 18, 1898 2. B. S. Goff (Benjamin) b. Aug. 17, 1837 - d. Jan. 1, 1886 (son of Strother Goff) 3. Henry L. son of B. S. Goff - b. Jan. 14, 1875 - d. Dec. 14, 1879 4. One Stone - Goff, Alexander - b. 1773 - d. 1857 Goff, Elizabeth - b. 1779 - d. 1859 5. Goff, S. G. (Strother) b. Feb. 10, 1810 - d. Nov. 24, 1892 6. Gootstone - N. G. - no date - this is probably for Nancy Riddle Goff, wife of Strother Goff. Four old stones without names. Mrs. Sinnett gave us the names of three people buried in the cemetery without markers - - Twins, Alvin and Alva Bollinger, children of Caroline Gough Goff Bollinger and Thomas Bollinger, Twins born Jan. 22, 1876. Caroline Gough was first married to Lafayette Goff; after his death in the Civil War she married Thomas Bollinger.
