Fisher, as a volunteer in York county, Pennsylvania. After January he volunteered in what was then called the Flying Camp, at Amboy, New Jersey for 6 months under command of Capt. Bedinger, Col. McAlister commanding the detachment. He was at Staten Island, White Plains and Trenton. After serving this term, he was commissioned as Ensign under seal of commonwealth of Pennsylvania bearing date May 10, 1780 and was called into service and marched against the Indians under Capt. Clingan of York county, Pennsylvania for 5 months until end of war. Was discharged December 1781 at Fort Pitt. General Irvine of Carlisle, Penna. commanded the last mentioned expedition. soldier's commission as Ensign has been removed from case for safe keeping. Letter of August 15, 1840, to Commissioner of Pensions states that pension claim of which Hostetter has been rejected by agent at Richmond upon the grounds that the order of the court is defective in not stating whether the deceased pensioner left any children. December 18, 1840 letter to commissioner of pensions states that there were children other than the wife of the administrator, (Jacob A. Wilhelm, with whom the pensioner lived, but they are gone to other states and to parts unknown previous to the death of the pensioner. (Names not stated). No family data given. Under Act of April 6, 1838 claim was paid the administator of Ulrick Hostetter at the rate of $76.66 per annum under Act of June 7, 1832. From September 4, 1839 to February 21, 1840.
