Atkins, 97, of Florence Street, died Friday, March 13, 1998 at home. She was born in Ritchie County, WV, May 17, 1900, a daughter of the late Harvey and Nettie Simitt Manley Cochran. She lived most of her life in this area working as a jiggerman and ran molds at the Homer Laughlin China Co. before retiring in 1962. She was Protestant by faith. She is survived by three sons, Eugene Atkins of Las Vegas, NV, Robert Atkins of Hesperra, CA, and Frank Atkins of Rouband Heights, CA; a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) Tucker of Glenmoor; two sisters, Ruth Larson of West Lafayette, OH and Mary Whitlock of Canton, OH; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandchild. The Rev. Gaylord Cox of the Grace Baptist Temple will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday at the Martin Funeral Home. He was born in Ritchie County, WV March 6, 1923, a son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Forester Leasure. An area resident most of his life, he retired in 1980 from the former T.S.&T. Pottery where he operated a stamp machine. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. His wife, Rosezella Blystone Leasure, died July 28, 1993. He is survived by a son, Dale W. Carnes of East Liverpool; a daughter, Dorothy Carnes of East Liverpool; three sister, Madeline Leasure of Weirton, Betty Barnhart of Chester and Helen Leasure of Harrisville, WV; a brother, Roy Leasure of Ritchie County; and a grandchild.
