She was a daughter of John B. and Ellen Arnett Shriver, born February 9, 1889. She was a member of the Victory Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Harley Currey, and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Iva Byrd, Wooster, O, Mrs. Alice Slater, Ft. Smith, Ark., Mrs. Belle Auiler, Wooster, O., Emmett Shriver, Wooster, O., James Shriver, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Jane Stevens. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Raiguel funeral home at Harrisville, with the Rev. Snowden Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Victory cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John L. Griffin ~~~~~The Parkersburg News, Tuesday, August 7, 1851 John L. Griffin, of 2001 46th St., Vienna, died yesterday at 4:50 at his home. A former resident of Mole Hill, he was born September 4, 1875, the son of Daniel and Virginia Griffin. He was a member of the Buck Run Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Cline Griffin; four sons, William Floyd Griffin, Parkersburg, Eddie e. Griffin, Clarksburg, James Carl Griffin, Vienna, and Freddie Z. Griffin, New Cumberland, W. Va.; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Fleming, Okmulgee, Okla.; three brothers, George and Everon Griffin, both of Perth Amboy, New Jersey; and William C. Griffin, of Greenwood; five grandchildren andd three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Mole Hill Methodist Church, with Evangelist Tom W. Butterfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the family home tomorrow, where brief rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Franklin funeral home is in charge of arrangements. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wanita Mae Shrader ~~~~The Parkersburg News, Monday August 6, 1851 Wanita Mae Shrader, 35, of Harrisville, died yesterday evening at her home. she was a member of the First Methodist Church of Harrisville. Surviving are her husband, Charles H. Shrader, and the following children, Ira Robinson, Jr., Edward Robinson, Gladys Mae Shrader, Charles David Shrader and Robert Dale Shrader, all at home; her parents; one half-brother, Everett Parker, Parkersburg, and three half-sisters, Ada Bowen, Logan, O., Lottie Reed, Washburn, W. Va., and Gladys Baker, Kinbuck, O. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the First Methodist Church, with the Rev. C. C. Darst officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The Raiguel funeral home of Harrisville is in charge of arrangements. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okey Barker ~~~~~The Parkersburg News, Friday, August 3, 1951 Okey Barker, 52, died Wednesday at his home near Mahone, Ritchie county. The son of Harrison and Eunice Wiseman Barker, he was born August 29, 1901, and was a farmer by occupation. He was a member of the King Knobb Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Richards Barker; four children, Bobby, Addie, Betty Lou and Richard Lee, all at home; three brothers, Clarence, of California, Roy of Mahone, Stokey of Cleveland, O., and Vergil Barker of Akron, O., and one sister, Myrtle Wiegel, Wadsworth,O. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the King Knobb Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the late residence this afternoon from the Raiguel funeral home in Harrisville. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- James R. Hedge ~~~~~The Parkersburg News, Thursday, August 2, 1951 James R. Hedge, 81, of Harrisville, died Monday at 8 p.m. He was born March 4, 1870, the son of Piercen and Margaret Carpenter-Hedge. A retired farmer, he was a member of the King Knobb Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Rexroad, Mrs. Edith Baker, and Mrs. Stella Britton, wife of Ritchie County Sheriff H. A. Britton, all of Harrisville; two sons, Thomas Hedge, Triumph, O., and Harley Hedge, Salem; 17 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. from the King Knobb Methodist church with the Rev. Clyde Wigner officiating. Burial will follow in the King Knobb cemetery. The Raiguel funeral home of Harrisville is in charge of arrangements. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Barton Rollins ~~~~~The Parkersburg News, Monday July 30, 1951 Funeral services for Barton Rollins, 95, who died Thursday at the Cokely Nursing home in Harrisville, will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. from the Cabin Run Methodist church. The Rev. Snowden Brown will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Surviving are three children, Lemon Rollins, Lafayette, O., Russell Rollins, Cleveland, O., and Mrs. Luch Brummon, Portland, Ore., and 24 grandchildren.
