W. RICHARDS Will p67 I G. W. RICHARDS of the county of Ritchie and State of West Virginia a farmer by occupation being of sound mind, I do this day make this my last will and testament, as follows: First - I will and bequeath to my dear wife, Elizabeth RICHARDS all of that certain bounding of land, situate on Beason Run in the county and State aforesaid said land is the same land purchased by me of Jacob RICHARDS, L. H. DAVIS, & Thomas HAMRICK and contains 85 acres. She shall be the owner of said land as long as she remains my widdow, but if she gets married to another, then she shall have but one third of said 85 acre tract, and the heirs of her body shall have the other two thirds, if she remains my widow till death then all of the same 85 acre tract shall fall to her children by me. I do further will what-ever of my personal property is left after my debts are all paid an equal share to my wife and all of my children both of my first and last wife, and I do hereby appoint Irvin E. RICHARDS and G. W. RICHARDS Jr. my two sons, executors to settle my business they shall be sworn to settle it lawfully and Justly, the money yet back on the HAMMOND tract of land is to be paid out of the personal property above named. In witness whereof p68 I have hereunto signed and sealed this instrument and published, and declared the same, as and for any last will at my residence on Lynn Camp Run, where I have lived ever since I was married. RICHARDS (seal) E. C. RICHARDS (seal) State of West Virginia Ritchie County Court Clerk's Office, August 29th 1888. A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of G. W. RICHARDS, deceased, was this day produced before me in my office for probate. And B.F. RICHARDS and E. C. RICHARDS, the subscribing witnesses to said will, appeared before me at the same time and place and being sworn according to law, and having said will before them testified that they were present and saw the testator G. W. RICHARDS , sign his name (by mark) to said will and that he in their presence declare the same as and for his last will and testament and that they, the said B. F. RICHARDS and E. C. RICHARDS, at the request of said testator, and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, subscribed their names thereto as witnesses, and that the words, but is to be paid by my three sons Irvin E. RICHARDS, G. W. RICHARDS, and Joseph RICHARDS, were erased in the presence of said testator before the execution of said will. Whereupon the said will is admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded as the last will and testament of G. W. RICHARDS, dec'd. Teste, G. W. Amos, Clerk State of West Virginia Ritchie County Court Clerk's Office, August 29th 1888.
