Will of Sarah Denning Submitter James Denning - jamesd@citynet.net Source: Ritchie County, WV will book 4, page 114, 115 I Sarah Denning, of the city of Pennsboro, County of Ritchie, and State of West Virginia, Being of sound and disposing mind and memory and desiring to make such disposition of my worldly estate as I deem best, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking any and all former wills and codicils whatsoever by me made. FIRST: I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate as soon after my decease as conveniently may be and to that end charge my whole estate, real and personal, with the same. SECOND: I give and bequeath to my niece, Effie Mayfield, one bed complete,consisting of one pair of bedsteads, Springs, feather bed, one pair of pillows, and sufficient bed clothes to complete the bed; and two rocking chairs. THIRD: All the rest and remainder of my property, both personal and real, I give and bequeath to Lovie Denning, to have and to hold the same unto herself and her heirs forever. FOURTH: I nominate and appoint the said Lovie Denning the sole executrix of this, my last will and testament, and request that no bond be required of her in the execution the the same. Bibbee State of West Virginia, Ritchie County Clerk's Office, February 3rd, 1927; A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Sarah Denning, deceased, was this day produced before me in my said office, with the request that the same be admitted to probate. And M. A. Fordyce, one of the subscribing witnesses to said writing, appeared before me in my said office, and being by me duly sworn and having said writing before her, on oath says, that she and C. O. Bibbee, the other subscribing witness to said will, were present and saw the said Sarah Denning sign her name to said writing, and she declared the same as and for her last will and testament; and affiant further says that she and the said C. O. Bibbee, in the presence of the said testatrix, at her request, and in the presence of each other, signed their names to said writing as attesting witnesses thereto; and further, that the said Sarah Denning was of sound mind and memory when said writing was executed;, as she verily believes; and further that the said C. O. Bibbee, the other witness to said will, is now a non-resident of West Virginia. Whereupon, it appearing that said writing is fully proven, it is therefore ordered that said writing be, and the same is admitted to probate and filed and recorded as the last will and testament of Sarah Denning, deceased.
