Catharine Wilkins Departed this Life January 25th 1809 the mother of Peter Wilkins James Wilkins was taken Sick Jan 1st 1842 and died the 17th of the same. Hetty Wilkins Departed this life Oct 4th 1856. Lieutenant Michiel James, father of Robert O. James (who fought in the Revolutionary War) was grandfather of Susan James (my grandmother). She had several sisters and Robert O. James brother whose descendents are in Norfolk. Susan James married James Doughty, son of Roland Doughty who had: James Doughty, Thomas P. Doughty, John A. Doughty (my father) who married Emily Wilkins, (my mother) daughter of William J. Wilkins. She (Emily) had one brother who never married, Wm. J. Wilkins, Jr. John A. Doughty and Emily Wilkins Doughty (my parents): Sons: William J. Doughty m. Kate Kempton - no issue John M. Doughty three, Emily, Lillian & John Daughters: Susan Doughty m. W. H. Maud Doughty married twice, Mr. Witchard of Norfolk & Mr. Gainey of North Carolina who was the husband of her sister, Rose Doughty, who died leaving three daughters. Madison Doughty lives in New York and has married twice - one daughter. Elizabeth (Bettie) Doughty married Severn Brittingham. They have two sons, who have several children each. Edward Doughty married Jennie Johnson & had 5 children. Rose Doughty married William C. Bell & had sons: Frank, Walter, Henry, & Charlie. Henry C.
