CAUSE OF DEATH:  Injuries suffered in an accident on August 18, 1969 at
                 the Morgantown Research Center of the Bureau of Mines.
                 He had been working in a gas producer when the automatic
                 valve cut off and depeted his oxygen supply. He did not
                 regain consciousness after the accident.
