March 20, 1860 John Letcher, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia; To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting. Know ye' that in conformity with a survey made on the eleventh day of May, one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 23636, there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Alderson Workman, assignee of William Ferguson Senr., a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing ten acres lying in Wayne County, on the West side of the Right hand fork of Twelve Pole and bounded as follows, viz. Beginning at two white oaks, corner to the Hatton survey of with or near the same N.4.E36 poles to a beech and black oak on a hill side; N 48, W 39 poles to a birch and rock; thence S 47, E 60 poles to the beginning with it's appurtenances, to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its apputenances to the said Alderson Workman and his heirs forever. In witness whereof, the said John Letcher Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the first day of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and sixty, and of the Commonwealth the eighty fourth.
