I visited him a few days ago and find he has not been in the best of health the past few months and he is now 70 years old and very nervous at Times. I will write for him. He has given me all of the information he knows of the family, which follows, His father was Charles Reeder Perdue and he believes was born in Franklin Co., VA and was killed in the Union Army in 1864, the same year my father was born. He was married to Louvenia Ward and their children were named as follows, Martha, Mary, William Steven, Charles Henry, and my father George Thomas Perdue who is the only one living. Charles Reeder Perdue I am told was a son of Isaiah Perdue and had brothers named Medow, William, Luke and possible others. My Father remembers that several years ago, a very old man named John Perdue came over from Virginia to visit Charles E. Walker at Wane, W.Va. whoes mother was then living and a very close relative to this John Perdue. I can recall that this Charles E. Walker was a circuit clerk of Wane County many years ago and my father tells me he is still living and probly knows more about the Virginia and West Virginia Perdues than anyone living, as he is said to have a wonderful memory. I have just learned in last few days that there is a Dr. R. B. Perdue connected with Daves and Elkins College at Elkins, West Virginia. Very Truly Yours, Cecil Perdue Additional Comments: Cecil A. Perdue was born 25 May 1895 to George Thomas Perdue & Cynthia Booth. George Thomas Perdue was born 10 Oct 1864 died 16 March 1941. Cynthia was born 27 May 1867 and died 18 Dec 1939 both buried Newman Cemetery in Wayne Co., West Virginia. Cecil Perdue married Mabel Fields 1 Oct 1916 in Huntington, WV. He died 31 July 1965 and was buried in Kanawha Co., WV.
