Aged Wayne County woman expired suddenly. Heart failure was cause of death. Deceased carried large amount of money on person. Sudden death came yeaterday morning to Mrs. Nancy McKnead, aged 67 years. A well known Wayne County woman as she walked along the tracts of the Norfolk and Western Railroad south of Ceredo. She was stricken with apoplexy. In apparently the best of health while shopping in Ceredo a few minutes before her death, she died before the aid of a Doctor could be received. Those who saw her topple over, rushed to help her up. What was first thought to be a faint, proved to be the faint of death. A Coroner's Jury hastily summoned pronounced her death due to heart failure. When her remains were brought to the Johnson Undertaking Establisment here, it was found that $1,480.50 in money was secreted in her clothing. While it was known that she was comparatively well off, the fact that she carried such a sum of money with her was a surprise to her most intimate relations. She was the widow of the late Nelson McKeand, a prominent Wayne County farmer, who died two years ago. Her remains will be taken to her home in Wayne County for burial.
