Tabor Obits Wayne Co. WV submitted by DotInWayne@aol.com Obit for Samuel Chester Tabor- Wayne Co. News S.C.( Chess) Tabor, age 65, of the head of Beech Fork, near East Lynn,died at 3:00 Sunday morning. He had been in declining health for several months, but went to bed Saturday night feeling as well as usual. He slept with his son,John, whom he awakened with the words,"John, I'm gone." He died without a struggle. Mr.Tabor, who was one of the county's staunch and dependable citizens,was born near Snowville,in Pulaski Co.Va, on June 28th,1858. His father moved to Mercer Co.WV and lived there until after the Civil War when he came to Jackson Co, staying there until the spring of 1870 when he moved to Wayne Co.WV. The deceased was married to Josephine Morrison on Oct. 23,1879. He was a good Christian man and always honorable in his dealings. His passing will be mourned by a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. C. E. Doss, Kiahsville; Mrs. Bee Vanhoose, Camp Creek; Will Tabor, Huntington; John, Freelin, Charlie, Jennings, Quincy, Ella, Sarah and Esta. He also leaves one brother, C.W.Tabor, of East Lynn, and sister, Mrs. Lena Dudley of Graham,Va. Interment was made in the Jones Cemetery on Beech Fork,Tuesday afternoon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Obit from Wayne County News- March 16, 1933 Mrs. Josephine( Morrison) Tabor, 73 years old, died at her home on Beech Fork, three miles from East Lynn, Saturday, March 11, 1933, following an illness of nine days of pneumonia. She had been confined to her bed since January 6th. with complications due to advanced age. She was born July 19,1859, the daughter of Asa & Margaret( Smith) Morrison, and had lived, in Wayne County all her life. She was married to Samuel C. Tabor, who died in 1924. Mrs. Tabor had been a most estimable woman. She was of a quiet disposition, was well-liked, and her personality gained for her a host of friends. She is survived by the following children. W.H. Tabor of Huntington,WV, Freelin D. and Quincy Tabor of Holden,WV, Mrs. Mary D. Vanhoose, Mrs. Sarah D. Casteele,Mrs. Margaret Doss and Mrs. Esta Gilkerson all of East Lynn,WV., John, Jennings, Ella and Charley Tabor all at home.One daughter and one son are dead; 34 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; one brother,Charles R.
