Obituary of Grace Wellman Workman, 1945 - Wayne Co. WV Republic Delta June 6, 1945 page 1. Last Rites Held For Mrs. Grace Workman Funeral Services were conducted this afternoon at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Grace Wellman Workman, 72, who died at 7:20 a.m. Monday in a Buckhannon hospital where she had been a patient for 17 weeks. She was born March 31, 1873, in Wayne County, a daughter of James Polk and Frances Sisson Wellman. She is the widow of the late Dr. J.B. Workman, who died in 1942. They came to Buckhannon to live in 1941, when Dr. Workman retired as a mimister of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Workman is survived by four daughters, Mrs. G. E. Stemple, of Oakland,Md., Mrs. T.B. Holderby, of Huntington, Mrs. Frank E. Campbell, of Hollidays Cove, and Mrs. William C. Manser, of Buckhannon, and one son, Paul W. Workman, of Clendenin. Also surviving is one sister, Miss Inez Wellman, of Huntington, one brother, Milton W. Wellman, of Lexington, Ky., nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were conducted at the residence on Barbour Street, with Rev. Ross Linger, officiating. Interment was made at Heavener Cemetary.
