All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm   WILL OF OBADIAH FERGUSON, FATHER OF JOEL MARTIN FERGUSON   IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN      I Obediah Forgeson of Lee County and State of Virginia being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God.  And calling to mind the uncertainties of human life and being desirious to dispose of all such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with.  I give and bequeath the same in manner following that is to say I give &c      lst.  I desire that all perishable part of my estate be immediately sold after my decease, and out of the monies arising therefrom all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.      2nd.  After the payments of my debts and funeral expenses, I give to my wife Elizabeth Forgason the balance of my personal Estate and the lower tract of my land during her natural life and after her decease to belong to my son Rewben B. Forgerson and his heirs forever.      3rd.  I give the middle tract of my land to my son George Forgerson and his heirs forever.      4th.  I give the upper end of my plantation to my son Obediah Forgerson and his heirs forever.      5th.  The condishion of the above bequeaths is such that the boys shall pay the two girls Elizabeth Forgason and Sarah H. Forgason two hundred dollars each which may be discharged in the payment of a horse Saddle and bridle and household furniture which shall be well and truly paid as soon as my youngest son Ruben B. Forgason arrives at the age of twenty one years.      6th.  I give William Forgason Jr., son of William Forgason Sen. five dollars to be paid out of my personal estate.      7th.  I think that I have given my sons John Forgason, Joel Forgason and Henry Forgason an equal proportion to that which I have given the rest of my children.      8th.  And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friends Benjamin Hill and William P.
