Will of Sarah Jane Keyser, 1885 - Wayne Co. WV Will Book 2 Page 125 I, Sarah Jane Keyser of Ceredo Dist of Wayne County State of West Virginia, widow of the late Thomas Keyser deceased, being fifty -eight years of age and of sound mind do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in the manner following. First, I give and bequeath to my daughter Fany Keyser her bed and bed clothing also her choice of the four cows now upon the place in my possession. Second I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ida Keyser her bed and bed clothing and the second choice of the four cows upon the place and in my possession. Third I give and bequeath to my daughters Fany Keyser and Ida Keyser in common my sewing machine. Fourth I give and bequeath to my sons Albert Keyser, Gerard Keyser, Thomas J Keyser, John N Keyser and Charles Keyser, all my legal interest in my late husband Thomas Keyser personal estate when the same shall be ascertained and any other property of which I may die possessed after paying my lawful debts and burial expenses. And lastly I do hereby appoint my friend James McQueen of Wayne Co West Virginia, to be executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this eighth day of July in the year of Our Lord 1885 Wayne County Court In Vacation Dec. 7th, 1885 WILL BOOK 2 PAGE 126 This day a writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Sarah J Keyser dec'd was presented to the undersigned clerk in vacation by James McQuin and it appearing by the deposition of Indiana Ferguson and Martha Perdue the subscribing and attesting witnesses thereto taken and subscribed before W.L. Mansfield a Notary Publice for Wayne County that the said instrument of writing had been duly proven by the said witnesses to the last will and testament of the said testator, It is therefore ordered that the said instrument be and the same is hereby admitted to probate as and for the last will and testament of Sarah J. Keyser deceased and there upon came James McQuin who was nominated in the will as executor thereof and entered into and acknowledged a Bond in the penalty of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS conditioned as the law directs, together with G.F. Ratliff his surety therein and thereupon the James McQun took the several oaths required by law as such executor and on his motion James Swanson, W.B. Perdue and J.H. Perdue was appointed appraisers of the personalproperty of the said Sarah J. Keyser dec'd.
