Will of Alexander Wilson, 1868 - Wayne Co. WV (Submitter note: Alexander (1798-1876) was the son of James P. Wilson and Sarah Mounts) I Alexander Wilson of the County of Wayne and State of West Virginia being in feeble health and week in body but of sound mind and disposing memory and knowing the uncertainty of human life I do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner and in form following to wit that is to say. 1st I will my sole to God who gave it and my body to the earth desiring that it may be decently buried. 2nd I desire all my just debts be paid and all my funeral expenses be paid. 3rd I give to Sarah my dear wife a portion of my personal property namely all the household & kitchen furniture and farming utencil all meets and grain and growing crops and provender and our farm horse, two cows and calfs, ten head of sheep, ten head of hogs, and her dowery to cover the home part of the farm which will fall to James her youngest son at her death and all property that is found in her hands at her death is to fall to James my youngest son. 4th I desire that Nancy Thompson to have five dollars and Leander Wilson to have five dollars and Eliza Smith to have five dollars and Julia Copley to have five dollars and Margaret Webb to have five dollars and Susan Ferguson to have five dollars and Martha Thompson to have five dollars and to Morris Wilson to have fifty dollars and to the heirs of Harman Wilson to have five dollars. 5th and I do will Chilton Wilson a portion of my land bounds as follows to wit beginning on the North side of Mill Creek at the mouth of the Bridge drean it being the lower end of my land on that side of the creek running up the creek with its myanders to the meeting house branch up said branch to the rocky hollow then up said hollow to Waren Robersons line thence turning a northwest corst with my line to black gum and white oak being a corner of Fullington survey then with said line to the top of the hill, thence turning a southwest corst so as to include the top of the hill to the head of the bridge drean and down said drean to the beginning supposing it to be sixty five acres be the same more or less. 6th I do also will to Smith Wilson my son a portion of land bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at a sicamore and white walnut on the bank of the south side of Mill Creek it being the lower end of my land on that side of the creek running up said creek till passing the new fence where John Smith lives to a large dogwood thence running up the hill including the farm to second__ cross fence thence running with the cross fence passing the feel about fore rood to a white oak thence turning a south corse whare my back line crosses the branch that runs through to my loor field thence following my line round to the place of beginning supposing it to be fifty acres the same more or less. 7th all the rest of my land I will to James my son which is supposed to be one hundred acres be the same more or less this falls to him after his mothers death with all mabee found with her at her death. 8th I further desire that my wagon and kind yoke of cattle and sone other property such as can be given up for sail ma__be sold this property is to be sold to pay all expenses against my estate. 9th I further desire that my son James have all the property that remains or estate after all claims are satisfied.
