Wetzel Democrat May 17, 1918
  Harry Covey, tried on an indictment charging him with forgery, was found 
guilty by the jury, and sentenced to serve seven years in the State prison at 
Moundsville. It is said that Covey had many assumed names and made a practice 
going over the country representing he had money in the bank and giving checks 
that proved to be worthless. Attorney C. L. Johntson represented the defendant 
and the prosecuting attorney G. W. Coffield the State.

Additional Comments:
C. L. Johntson may be a misprint from the newspaper and may have been meant to 
read C. L. Johnston.
