It is said that Covey had many assumed names and made a practice going over the country representing he had money in the bank and giving checks that proved to be worthless. Attorney C. L. Johntson represented the defendant and the prosecuting attorney G. W. Coffield the State. Additional Comments: C. L. Johntson may be a misprint from the newspaper and may have been meant to read C.
