Obituary: Thomas A. Shuman (b. October 8, 1883; d. February 21, 1940)

Thomas A. Shuman died 21 February 1940 at his home on Steel Run, Wetzel County,
W.V. Born 27 October 1860 a son of Jesse and Massie Shuman. He married Rose Ella
Cummins of Kingtown 8 October 1883. He was a retired farmer and lumberman and a
Baptist by faith having served many years as a Sunday School teacher. Seven
children and his wife survive him; Jesse R.; Donald D. of Mannington, W.V.;
Franklin L. and Thistle R. of Wiidman, Michigan. One daughter, Mrs. C. E. Hayes
of Wileyville; one brother, A. V. Shuman of Wileyville and one sister Mrs.
Charles Matthews of Wileyville. Burial in Wileyville Cemetery.
