At court for Wood County 16 Sept 1839 the aforegoing deed from
Samuel Gard to Lot G Arnold was presented in court proved by the
oath of Joseph Pugh and Levi Newbanks subscribing(?) witnesses 
to the signiture of Richard Arnold also a subscribing(?) witness 
thereto who hath departed this life was proved by the oath of 
the subscribing witness aforesaid and on motion of the said Lot G
Arnold ordered to be recorded.

John Arnold and Levi Arnold to Lot G Arnold and Richard Arnold  
Know all men by these presents that I John Arnold and Levi Arnold 
of Washington county, state of Ohio do hereby remise, release and 
forever quit claim all our right title __ and claim of all __ of 
lands lying and being in the County of Wood and State of Virginia 
unto Lot G Arnold and Richard Arnold for the consideration of the 
sum of eighty dollars to them in hand paid by Lot and Richard 
Arnold and do by these presents remise release, etc. Date 27 August
