Logan, Colo., in company with Sargeant Ernest Birch, G. F. I., who came up last Saturday to make examination of the applicants. Those making up Gillette's Honor Roll, were: John F. Mulvaney, Bert Streeter, Arthur A. Drew, Loyd G. Neyhart, George T. Morton, Claude E. Yowell, Rex B. Eversole and Ernest F. Houser, to this list should be added the name of M. A. Drew who went down a week previous and who has been assigned a position with the Signal Corps. The boys were escorted to the depot by the aforesaid citizens, keeping step to the music of drums with Old Glory floating proudly in the lead, and at the depot fully a half hour was spent in handclasps and words of good cheer to the local volunteers. It is anticipated from expressions over- heard at the time that within a very short time Gillette's Honor Roll will be more than doubled. God bless you, boy, you have shown the stuff that our country is made of and may it be your good fortune to be returned to your homes and various vocations within a very brief space of time. Word received by Postmaster Given on Wednesday from Sargeant Birch, was to the effect that he arrived at his destination with the boys all in good shape and that everyone of them had successfully passed the required examination and had been sworn into the service.
