Her sister Mrs. Crocker of Gillette was with her at the time of her death. Goodland Herald Sat. Dec 7, 1918 pg 1 Young Mother Passes Away MRS CLARENCE W. LEMASTERS DIES NOV. 29. Words cannot express the great sorrow that was felt in this community when the sad news was given out that Mrs. Clarence LeMasters had passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilse LeMasters after a few days illness of pneumonia, leaving a little daughter 23 days old. The husband is in France, which makes the death a sad one. Clarence, who had every promise of a happy home coming will not be met by his one happy wife. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence LeMasters came to Goodland early in June from Gillette, Wyoming when it was learned that he would be called into the service, where the wife and little one would wait his return from the service. About the first of last week Mrs. LeMasters was stricken with pneumonia and owing to her weakened condition was an easy victim to the disease and the end came last Friday night. She was a patient sufferer and was cheerful almost to the last. The little daughter will be cared for by its grandmother, and will be a source to cheer its father when he returns. Funeral services were held from the LeMasters home Monday afternoon conducted by the Rev. V. B. Servies pastor of the M. E. Church. Interment was made in the Goodland cemetery. Katherine Elizabeth Brooke was born in Minneapolis, Minn., July 3, 1900. Moved to Gillette, Wyo., in 1908. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, was married to Clarence W. She is survived by her husband who is "Somewhere" in France and daughter, Anna Margaret, her mother, Mrs. Ann Brooke, six sisters and two brothers. The text suggested for teh close of this beautiful life was taken from the book of Jeremiah, the Prophet 15th chapter, a part of the 9th verse. Her sun is gone down while it is yet day. Her mother was at her bedside when she passed away. A sister, Mrs. Sarah Crocker was also her to attend the funeral. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank our many friends and neighbors for their many kindnesses and sympathy during the illness and death of our dear daughter and sister.
